Movember Manicure

Hey guys,

So tonight marks the end of one of my favourite months: Movember. A month filled with some excellent 'staches and a LOT of greasy nasty 'staches (I love them all)
I've seen a few of these types of manicures and more than a few sets of moustache nail decals on Etsy.

I used a nail pen for mine so up close they look a bit wonky, and I totally messed up my pinky finger when I applied my top coat (dang!) but they look a lot better from a bit further away.

For this I used

Bed Head - Master Mind
Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen - Black

Blue Drip Stripes

Hey guys,

This was a technique that I had seen done a while ago and wanted to give a go. I don't think it turned out the best BUT I really liked the end effect. I'd actually forgotten about this technique I think it may be time to revisit this and apply the lessons I learned last time... Hopefully less drops and more stripes.

For this I used

A England - Lancelot
OPI - Dating A Royal
Zoya - Breezi
Orly - Frisky

Las Vegas Manicure

Hey guys,

So a while back I tasked two of my best friends with giving me ideas for manicures. Nicole suggested that I do Las Vegas themed nails. Which lead Chelsea to suggest that I do a series of Location themed nails. Well that hasn't happened yet but I apparently never got around to posting these.

A city themed series could possibly be coming to an Addicted To lacquer blog near you in the new year. We shall see.

For this I used

Essie - Blanc
Orly Instant Artist - Jet Black
Quo Instant Artist - Red
OPI - Servin' Up The Sparkle
Zoya - Gia

NYX - Be Jeweled

Hey guys,

Wow so sorry I haven't posted in a few days I've literally been so busy that I hadn't even thought about it until today which is so not like me.
This next week is going to be crazy as well but I'm going to try to get myself sorted out enough that nothing slips by the wayside.

Also coming up is my one year Blogiversary. Wow seems like just yesterday I started out with some horribly sloppy manicures.

So this is a polish I grabbed on a whim, A very pretty blue glitter duochrome.
I need to play with it over some different blues.

Blue Plaid Manicure

Hey guys,

So two weeks ago was the CFR (Canadian Finals Rodeo) and when the CFR comes to town it usually means that normal city-slickers get to dress up in their best (or only) western duds.
As far as western week goes I like to pretend that having horses lends me a little bit of Country girl cred.

Anyways this was my manicure that matched the shirt I wore for one of the days.

For this I used
Island Girl - Aloha Girl
OPI - Ogre The Top Blue
Orly Instant Artist - Crisp White
Orly Instant Artist - True Blue

Steel Day Manicure

Hey guys,

Okay so first a bit of a rant. I hate when websites for retailers don't offer an online catalogue or online shopping. (Yes Dollarama, I'm looking at you. Why do you even have a website??) That way I can happily browse from my home before trekking into 100+ stores to find whatever I'm looking for. (In this case LED candles for cheap) I hate shopping for anything other than Nail Polish, Horse stuff & DVDs. So the search continues. Wish me luck.

Moving on, So every September my company participates in Steel Day, which in essence just educates people about our field of work and gives them the opportunity to come have a tour etc. Now I'm clearly a little late posting this but this was my manicure. The flat studs were from the Born Pretty Store.
For this I used

China Glaze - Hook And Line

A England - Dorian Gray

Hey guys,

So this was the one Gothic Beauty that while gorgeous I don't feel like it really fit in with the rest of the collection.

Dorian Gray is a fantastic gunmetal grey. I think maybe a silver shimmer in a black base would have fit into this collection better than this polish. That being said I really do love this.
Unfortunately our week with A England and her Gothic Beauties & Friends has now come to an end.

A England - Jane Eyre

Hey guys,

We're nearing the end of our A England week, (tomorrow is the last Gothic Beauty) Yes you can make a sad face. I sure am.
I think I'm going to have to swatch all these again and matte them all. In hindsight that would have been a great idea while I was swatching these but the thought didn't occur to me until afterwards.
This is the burgundy/red of the collection.

A England - Tess D'Urbervilles

Hey guys,

So even though I'm not showing you this until now, this was actually the first Gothic Beauty that I swatched and wore. Like the rest I loved it. This is the green of the group. I can see a Christmas manicure in the future using this and Jane Eyre (coming tomorrow)

Seriously Adina can you please make a polish I don't wind up loving?
My wallet will love you for it.

A England - Lady of Shalott

Hey guys,

So after yesterday's longish post today's will be much shorter.
I have the next Gothic Beauty for you. This was one of my favourites.
Lady of Shalott.
Now having said that. My camera again hated this. Nothing wanted to be in focus (I warned you about this)
That being said even with it out of focus you can see the blue shimmer buried in the black base.

A England - Ophelia

Hey guys,

So I had a bit of a rocky road with Ophelia.
I was cursed with a bottle with a funky brush
Okay yes, as far as funky brushes go I've certainly seen worse. (My Essie Cocktail Bling brush is by far the worst)

But it did make application a pain in the butt, it was all lumpy and goopy and not precise and beautiful like the rest of the A Englands.
So I did what most people do when they've been cursed with a #firstworldproblem (yes I just hash tagged my blog) I took to twitter. And within a day the lovely Adina of A England had tweeting me back telling me to drop her a line with my address and she'd send me a new brush. MY NEW BRUSH IS IN THE MAIL.
No but seriously. This is the beauty of indie brands, customer service. I hardly see Essie sending me a replacement brush for my crappy Cocktail Bling.

Wow sorry that transformed into a bit of a half-rant

Anyways so while shotty application, Ophelia is still a beauty.

A England - Bridal Veil

Hey guys,

So this is the second A England polish I have to roll out to you guys.
We're not getting into the Gothic Beauties yet but this one does fit in with the rest of them.
I've been admiring this beauty for a long time now, and also dying to get my hands on a black holo.

Getting this polish was a long time coming.

A England - Beauty Never Fails

Hey guys,

So It seemed like I waited forever for my new A Englands to arrive but finally they came. Then I swatched and wore, and fell in love, over and over again.

The first one I have to show you is Beauty Never Fails. My camera, unlike me seemed to hate all my new polishes because it refused to do any of them justice. So please bare with the not so great pictures.
Application was great and I even got compliments from strangers which is always fantastic.
This is a olive green/gold shimmer in a black base.
