Revlon - Girly

Hey guys,

So this was a polish that was skewered in the blogger world. People applauded Revlon for trying to tap into the chunky glitter in a jelly base that was happening so prominently in the indie world but yet saying they somehow missed the mark. I saw this all over the place and had to admit I wasn't a fan, something seemed a bit dirty about it.
With that said this came in a package from Melissa and I was still eager to try it. So I got out a base pink, in this case I used OPI - Sparrow Me The Drama then layered 2 coats of Girly over top.
result? I actually loved it. In person it didn't seem muddy or dirty it was just a pretty glitter polish.

So with that I'm going to say: Sometimes you just need to try the dress on before you make your final judgement.

Revlon - Whimsical

Hey guys,

So I've spent the day curled up on the couch, sick days are so bittersweet, on the one hand it's nice to just sit and snooze all day, on the other hand you're sick. So that sucks. At least I'm feeling better now so yay for that.

So these pictures make me go holy crap my nails were long (I haven't been able to get that length on my pinky for over a month now.) They also make me go "I should have used a base colour" Oh well hindsight. I expected this to be a bit more opaque. Overall I found it to be decent application aside from the sheerness

This is 4 coats.

Revlon FrenchMix - Moonstruck

Hey guys,

So yesterday was Mom's birthday and I would like to welcome into the family, her new fancy iPad. haha it's pretty neat. Anyways moving on.

I saw The Amazing Spider-man tonight, HOLLLLLYYYY CRAP. Loved it anyways it was the kick in the pants I needed to get around to swatching my Spider-man minis! But more on that next week (most likely especially assuming that next week is as wild and crazy as this week was.

Tonight I have another of the funky Revlon's I picked up.

This is Revlon FrenchMix - Moonstruck

a light purple with silver glitter in it and a darker shimmery purple.

Also I've heard buzz on a Wet N Wild Saved by the Bell polish collection that just came out... fingers crossed I can find it somewhere here!!!

Revlon FrenchMix - Sweet Revenge

Hey guys,

So it was freaking hot outside again today but something possessed me to spend almost all day outside reading a book I just started (and finished) Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. It was actually pretty good I wasn't quite so happy about the way it ended but that's a whole different story.

I also had to rebook my tattoo appointment from next week to mid-august. So bummed but good things come to those who wait right?

Anyways so Chelsea always shakes her head at me for being a nail polish snob (for some reason I just cannot wrap my head around brands like Sally Hansen and Revlon... I think it's because they seem like such Mom brands. Because we all know I'm not against CHEAP nail polish... Hello NYX & Island Girl)
However when I saw these guys when I was at Shoppers grabbing some hair dye (I did tell you guys that I found 4 grey hairs a couple weeks ago right?) lets face it I can't NOT walk down the nail polish aisle... especially since it's the same aisle the hair dye is on.

So I caved and picked up two. This is the first of the two I picked up.

From the new Revlon FrenchMix collection this is

Sweet Revenge

each tube comes with two colours designed to perfectly compliment each other in whatever you decide to do to your nails. In sweet revenge there is a slight shimmer to the purple colour while the pink is a creme.
