Sephora by OPI - The Way Tutu His Heart

Hey guys,

So in the fun of Heroes and Villains I totally got behind on sorting my swatches and getting my act together for when the month was over, so while I have a lot of exciting things to show you (HOLY HOLOS BATMAN!) I am going to do my best to push some of these older swatches off my plate.
So bear with me please, I will probably also batch post some of them which aside from Julep is something I haven't done in a while.

This polish came in the set with Handpicked for Me and It's Bouquet with Me (I think those were the names, forgive me if they aren't) So I feel so out of the loop I didn't realize Sephora was swapping out the SOPI polishes for Formula X?? I'm a bit heartbroken as I love SOPI which considering I don't have a massive collection is probably weird. Anyways sorry I had to point that out.
This is a SUPER light pink, like so light it's cream. I liked the simplicity of this and can see it being used as a base for some fun glitters.

This was 3 thin coats.

Sephora by OPI - Handpicked for Me

Hey guys,

So hopefully you all are having a great Friday and are ready for your long weekend.
Today I have another SOPI polish from the set I got.

This is a pink/purple shimmer duochromey shimmer polish. Like that description?
This is the kind of polish that usually takes 4+ coats to build up but often pops over black so I just decided to go ahead and swatch it over black. That being said it seemed to cover really well!.

I still did 2 coats over the black just for good measure but I really could have stopped at one.

Sephora by OPI - It's Bouquet with Me

Hey guys,

So I was reminded yesterday I needed to post these and if I don't post them now, they won't go up until November. So back when my Dad passed away the wonderful people I work with got together and made up a basket full of my favourite things. Included in this basket was a SOPI set of polishes.

Today we have the first of those polishes.
This is a insanely sparkly glitter topper. It was SO HARD to photograph so forgive the crappy pictures.
It is full of different shades of purple glitter with pieces of silver holo glitter in there too. The base has a purple tint to it.

This was 2 coats. The glitter payoff was fantastic.

Sephora by OPI - Club Scene Queen

Hey guys,

I hope you all are having a great weekend. Today I have the other SOPI polish I picked up at Winners a while ago. This was the one I was really excited about. It's a steely grey blue colour. It is kind of sheer so this is 4 coats, once this builds up it is gorgeous! It reminds me of a night sky, which is silly because I've never seen a night sky like that... okay maybe it reminds me of a night sky from a Disney movie. That makes a little bit more sense.

Sephora by OPI - Dating The Drummer

Hey guys,

So I was at Winners a couple weeks ago and randomly stumbled upon some SOPI polishes! I didn't know that Winners ever got SOPI polishes in so I quickly grabbed the two they had. Both polishes were from the same collection. This is the first of the two. I immediately fell in love with the name, I seriously love drummers, I don't even know what it is.

This is a brown polish (you know how I love browns) with blue and gold shimmer. It was different than anything I've seen and I totally love it. This was two coats.

Sephora by OPI - 212-Sephora

Hey guys,

So this weekend I started watching Terra Nova on netflix. I really am not sure why I wasn't interested in this when it was on TV, because seriously, hot guys (is that Jay Ryan from Beauty & the Beast I see?) and dinosaurs. Anyways I'm obsessed, I can only get 13 episodes obsessed but I'll take what I can get.

Today I have a polish I picked up when I had my stress shopping spree at Sephora, this is a limited edition that is literally everything but the kitchen sink. It's jam packed full of shimmer (see the bottom blurry pic for the sparkle), it's got flakies buried in there and theres even some holo glitter! This actually managed to stay on my nails for 2 whole days! I always laugh when I say that because I think of the people who make their manicures last for weeks. This is two coats.

Sephora by OPI Jasmine Collection

Hey guys,

So yesterday I posted SOPI's Cinderella collection and today I have Jasmine for you! This time around I knew to grab the set from Sephora when I had the chance (and saved myself $20)
I think when it comes down to it I prefer the colours in this set a little bit.
I really hope there are more princess collections to come from SOPI because we all know I would die over Aurora & Belle.

This set includes six polishes.

Sephora By OPI Cinderella Collection

Hey guys,

So last year I saw Sephora's Cinderella collection online and immediately wanted it. Along with a bunch of make up and other stuff like that was a SOPI mini collection. Of course like I usually do instead of getting it when I saw it I sat on my butt and let it be discontinued. So I wound up getting this off of ebay for about double of what it would have been originally (fml) The packaging on this collection is beautiful. Classy and gorgeous just like Cinderella herself. There are six polishes in this collection and you can only get them in this mini collection.
My package was squished when it arrived so this is a stock photo.

TV Inspired: Game Of Thrones

Hey guys,

Today's manicure is Game of Thrones. I fricken love that show! I mean really all I need to say is Khal Drogo, The Hound, and Jon Snow. 3 perfect reasons to watch, Jaime Lannister is pretty hot too, once you get past him being a huge asswipe.

So I basically did four of the main sigils (or I tried... some are a tad abstract) Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, and Baratheon.

For this I used
Nails Inc - Carnaby Street
Essie - Turning Heads Red
Sally Hansen - Black Out
Sephora by OPI - Frankly I Don't Give A-Dam
Layla - Golden Nugget
Art Club - Yellow
Orly Instant Artist in Jet Black, Crisp White, Fiery Red

TV Inspired: Hart of Dixie

Hey guys,

So Happy Valentines Day, I personally am not a fan. Pretty much since for as long as I can remember my Valentine has been one of the four-legged variety. Not to discount them, they're quite easier to love than many a human being.

Today's TV Inspired manicure I at least feel somewhat fits into the lovey dovey crap that is V-Day.
Hart of Dixie Now I've loved Rachel Bilson since The OC so I was super excited when HoD debuted. Add in Wilson Bethel & Scott Porter and you've hit the trifecta. (Can you see a pattern here?? Good looking guys significantly up how much I love a show. Sad but true.) So I've got the hearts, the bluebells, the Rammer Jammer, and of course we can't forget about the lemons!

For this I used:
SOPI - Neutral Beauty
Essie - Cute As A Button
China Glaze - Lemon Fizz
NOPI - Step 2 The Beat of My <3
Orly Instant Artist in Crisp White, Tweetheart, Leafy Green
Quo Instant Artist in Red

TV Inspired: New Girl

Hey guys,

So up today we have a New Girl inspired manicure. For the longest time there was no way you would get me to watch New Girl, I wanted nothing to do with it. Yes I love Max Greenfield but not enough to watch this show. Well I finally caved in to peer pressure and it really did not take that long before I was completely obsessed with it. And then one day while my friends and I were sitting on our horses chilling in the middle of the arena talking about New Girl and my coach pointed this out

Yep, Rock was Schmidt the douchey but good hearted one. Breezer was Nick, the defacto leader. Dodger was Winston, the token black dude. It's a true story.

Anyways this mani comes from Jess' rant about touching glitter and rocking a lot of polka dots.

For this I used
Nails Inc - Carnaby Street
Sephora by OPI - It's Totally Karma
Sally Hansen - Black Out
Zoya - Whitney
OPI - Fly
Bed Head - Mastermind

TV Inspired: Pushing Daisies

Hey guys,

So a few weeks back I talked about my brand new obsession of Pushing Daisies I love this show I'm so bummed that it only lasted 22 episodes. Seriously what kind of crap is that??! Sorry, it makes me sad that it didn't last cause this show was super adorable. Anyways this would up being the first TV Inspired Manicure I did.

We obviously have the daisies, the green rolling fields of daisies, and of course a pie.

For this I used
Zoya - Breezi
China Glaze - Starboard
China Glaze - Lemon Fizz
NYX - Blood
China Glaze - Kalahari Kiss
Sephora by OPI - Neutral Beauty
China Glaze - Fast Track
Bed Head - Mastermind

My Top 10 of 2012

Hey guys,

So it took me a while to narrow down my top 10 because over the past year I have gone from owning about 20 polishes to close to 350 (I know that's small beans compared to most of the bloggers out there.)

These are in no particular order. (click the name to go to the original post)

A England - Ascalon

Cirque - Dark Horse

Cult Nails - Flushed (swatch post coming soon)

Cult Nails - Charming (swatch post coming soon)

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

A England - Tristam

OPI - DS Magic

Zoya - Julieanne

Sephora by OPI - Studs & Stilettos

So we can see no creme's made the list, that wasn't intentional clearly nothing blew me away enough to make my list. I think it'll be interesting to see this time next year if any of these are still on my list. Or if the same trends remain.
