Hey guys,
So I mentioned back in my OPI Liquid Sand post about how stoked I was about the new textured polish trend. Well I finally got my hands on the Spring PixieDust collection from Zoya, it took me longer to get these posted than I would have liked because I really wanted to wear each of these and see how they wore through the day. Plus it's really necessary to let these dry for at least 20 minutes before trying to photograph them.
First up we have my favourite of the group: Chyna.
I love the vampy-ness of Chyna it's a deep yet bright blood redwith so much dept and sparkle that isn't visible in the pictures. 2 coats of Chyna was perfect. My Nail polish BBF Melissa at Claw of Cthulhu explained the application best. The first coat works almost as a basecoat primer, and as you apply the second coat the texture of the first really grabs on to the second coat so the second coat is much thicker but this really doesn't cause any problems. Even though Zoya doesn't recommend using a basecoat I couldn't bring myself to not put on some undies. So all swatches are over one coat of OPI Nail Envy and one coat of CND Stickey.
Next up is Dahlia, this one was a bitch to photograph but ranks as my second favourite in the group.
In real life even though Dahlia is black but the matte sparkle effect make it so soft and beautiful. I had many compliments on this while I wore it. 2 coats worked perfect for this.
Godiva is the next one up, this one one does not do good things for my skintone in these pictures but in real life it was beautiful! It's a nude/gold colour and is super classy. 2 coats were perfect for Godiva.
Next is London, this is a gorgeous steel grey colour. I had absolutely no issues with this one at all. 2 coats was all I needed.
Next up is Nyx, this is the perfect periwinkle blue and is so soft and beautiful with the PixieDust effect. Nyx was more on the sheer sides and could have really used 3 coats for full opacity, however this is only 2 which is still not bad.
Lastly we have Vespa. Like Nyx Vespa was more sheer, so this is Vespa in 3 coats.
Like with the Liquid sands I didn't bother putting a topcoat on these but there are some great bloggers out there who have fantastic pictures of them with topcoat. (Melissa being one of them so just go check out her swatches) Zoya recently announced that they are going to be releasing a summer collection of PixieDusts, yes I can't wait for those.

Ugh I should have went ahead and bought the whole set lol. And THANK YOU for swatching them dry! I can't tell you how much I'm sick of seeing them look like chewed up gum on other blogs. I wasn't into Godiva but ughhhh NEED SO BAD, lol. And thanks for pimping my blog - you're pretty much the best there is!
