October Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

So I was kind of hoping to fall head over heels for the entire October collection because of Halloween, and maybe use my points to get the whole collection, but sadly there was only a few polishes I was smitten with, and when I say smitten - I promise you I mean smitten. Beautifully Disney - Pop Of Minnie Set

Hey guys,

I'm really sorry for going MIA but I've had some family stuff going on behind the scenes here and life has been just a little bit crazy so I can't promise much this month. I'll try to keep you posted. However if I suddenly vanish into the ether a bit please forgive me as there is just a lot of stuff going on.

Today I have another of the discontinued Beautifully Disney mini sets for you. I also got this one while I was in Disney World with my cousin. This wasn't my favourite of the ones I bought but if greens and oranges are your thing this may be for you.

Julep - Bernadette - February Birthstone

Hey guys,

So I am just having one of those days where I swear I just can't handle being an adult today. I'm so glad the day is over and tomorrow I can start fresh.

Until then, tonight I have the Julep February Alternate birthstone to show you guys. Who knew that Onyx was the alternate birthstone for February? I love this, it's a shimmery black polish with silver microshimmer.
This was two coats.

Mesh Manicure

Hey guys,

So finally things are slowing down for me, I'm done and all the Christmas parties are over so now the biggest things on my plate this week are making sure I mail out a few gifts. So here is hoping I actually remember to do that.

So a while back I saw this manicure and thought it was fantastic. Well of course when I went to go try it I didn't actually go look at the instructions so I did it wrong. You're supposed to sponge on acrylic paint, well I just used polish and that didn't work but I did come up with almost a mesh stamping method. Not perfect and my clean up is awful but I really like the way this came out.
I used Deborah Lippmann - Mermaid Dream's to stamp.

Louboutin Manicure

Hey guys,

So today I have a manicure to show you that I wore with my halloween costume, as a vampire.

I've wanted to try a Louboutin manicure for a long time now but never really got around to it. of course it's a shame because about half an hour into wearing this I wrecked it by reforming my vampire teeth so I didn't get to enjoy this fully. I used Sally Hansen Black Out and then Essie - Dress to Kilt for the red.

There is a lot of clean up involved but I like it.

October Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

Happy Halloween!! I hope everyone is having a spooky day!
Today I have my October Julep Maven box to show you guys. Honestly I didn't think I was going to get my box this month it just showed up earlier this week WAY later than normal. Hopefully this doesn't become a thing because I'm impatient and all that jazz. This month was full of dark vampy colours, last October I got the full collection but this year I just went with normal box selections.

Anna Manicure

Hey guys,

So I really do intend to get to more nail art here in the near future. I just need to stop buying new polishes to swatch so I am forced to do some more nail art. Unfortunately my life has gotten a bit busy these past few weeks. I don't know if that will improve but if it doesn't I may have to cut back from posting every day. I hate the feeling of neglecting you guys.

This is my first Frozen inspired manicure inspired by Anna, While I love Anna, I do tend to be more of an Elsa fan. Who doesn't love Anna's spunkiness though? This was inspired by her dress.

LVX - Caviar

Hey guys,

So tonight I am dying, okay not literally but I am so out of shape and I had a really intense lesson tonight (serves me right for deciding to ride in the same lesson as my in-shape friend Jill) and every part of my body hurts, my lungs are burning like they did in grade 9 gym class when they made us run laps. It's embarrassing how out of shape I am.

Tonight I have a polish from a brand I've never seen before. This also came from Nicole from a subscription box. Now I know this polish looks kind of gritty in the pictures but this is without a topcoat. I used this as a base for a galaxy manicure so I didn't put top coat on for the pictures. I should have, the gold glitter in this just made it ever so slightly bumpy. A single coat of SV would have fixed this.
This was two coats.

Dollish Polish - One Choice

Hey guys,

So I don't know about you guys but I had a busy Sunday in my pjs. Today I started linking the polishes in my Stash spreadsheet with their swatch post. Well of course this uncovered a bunch of polishes I always thought I had swatched but apparently never did (usually polishes I use in nail art, or just ones that got put on the back burner by accident) So I had a big OPI swatchathon, and I'm sure there will be more in the future.

Today's polish is inspired by Divergent, now I LOVED Divergent (the novel) like blew through it in a day loved it. I liked the movie even though I think Shailene Woodley is a nutball, but come on Theo James is a BABE. That being said I wasn't really a fan of the rest of the books. But anyways. I love me a white crelly.

Inspired by the 5 factions, this white crelly has the 5 colors to represent each faction, Abnegation, Candor, Erudite, Amity, and Dauntless.

This was 3 coats.

Dollish Polish - On Wednesday's We Wear Black

Hey guys,

So how many times do you try and make something work before just giving up all together. Personally I am not a huge fan of giving up but sometimes I just think to myself that if something isn't meant to happen it won't. Long story short - in the past three weeks I have had 3 planned dates with the same guy and not a single one has happened. I'm starting to think this is the universe's way of just saying "No"

Well you know the usual motto "On Wednesday's We Wear Pink", well American Horror Story turned that on it's head with "On Wednesdays We Wear Black" honestly it speaks a bit more to me, don't get me wrong I love pink but I LOVVVEEE Black. Anyways this is a black glitter topper that I had a heck of a time finding an appropriate base colour for. I figured over black wouldn't show it's true beauty. So here it is over two different bases. Julep - Coco (oxblood), & OPI - Skull & Glossbones (grey)

Inspired by the coven of witches motto, this dense micro glitter reads as a flat inside, but in the sunlight it's a "magical" holo dance of black glitters.

This is two coats over each.

Supernatural Lacquer - Yellow Fever

Hey guys,

So I enjoy trips to our local fabric store. Fun fact I love to sew. I am so not patient enough to make clothing or anything but I've made stuffies and quilts and other random stuff. Well I've been contracted to make some eye patches for my coworker's son to help strengthen his weaker eye. I have no idea how it's going to turn out but I'm excited to try.

Today I have the last Supernatural Lacquer to show you guys. Another white crelly, this one a bit more sheer and yes you guessed it, I loved it. I know I sound like a broken record but I love all of this. The black circle glitter in this is perfect along with the neon yellow.
This was three coats.

Supernatural Lacquer - Turducken

Hey guys,

So earlier today I went and saw "When The Game Stands Tall" let me tell you if sports movies are anywhere in your movie wheel house go see it. And if you're thinking is there any eye candy let me just say two things: Alexander Ludwig & Work-out Montage. Trust me I almost swooned. Anyways it's fantastic but bring tissue.

Today I have another Supernatural Lacquer polish to show you. This is a total oddball, yet it love it.
This refers to a fantastic scene from Supernatural which if it doesn't make you laugh. I'm sorry we can't be friends anymore.
(credit)

It's a bizarre yet fun crelly full of yellow and black glitters in a nudey-grey gravy coloured base.
I dig it.
This is three coats.

Supernatural Lacquer - Idjits!

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday, I got wrapped up in shenanigans at the barn and got home much later than I expected, but I had a great night so no regrets!

Today I have another Supernatural Lacquer to show you guys, this is a lime green, blue & black glitter topper inspired by one of the greatest characters in Supernatural of all time. Bobby.
(credit to: youre-good-im-crowley)

I paired this with a lime green as a base coat which is slightly darker so the green glitter is still visable, this is also full of holo microglitter. This is two coats.
