Ciate - Ivory Queen

So in an unreal twist of events my blog Facebook page for the blog has reached over 1000 likes. I honestly could have never guessed. It's so awesome.

Tonight I have a Ciate mini to show you guys. This is a peachy-nude polish with a really subtle shimmer I quite liked this one and in real life it almost gave me mannequin hands. Is that still a thing? Nice application.

So this is one of Zoya's Magical PixieDusts, this is from their Summer collection. Magical PixieDusts are different from the regular PixieDusts in that it is much more chunky glitter opposed to fine PixieDusts. This is the nude one in the collection. I really liked the colour of this one.

So I really don't have a lot to say tonight other than did you guys see the Sons of Anarchy premiere yet? Curse that Gemma! That is all I will say and I promise it's not a spoiler. I have a feeling it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Today I have a sleeper favourite of my most recent Supernatural Lacquer purchase. This is a nude crelly that looks pretty vanilla when you see it in the bottle but then you apply it and out comes the rose gold flakies and the subtle holo. So gorgeous. This is three coats.

So earlier today I went and saw "When The Game Stands Tall" let me tell you if sports movies are anywhere in your movie wheel house go see it. And if you're thinking is there any eye candy let me just say two things: Alexander Ludwig & Work-out Montage. Trust me I almost swooned. Anyways it's fantastic but bring tissue.

Today I have another Supernatural Lacquer polish to show you. This is a total oddball, yet it love it.
This refers to a fantastic scene from Supernatural which if it doesn't make you laugh. I'm sorry we can't be friends anymore.

Hey guys,

So I hope that everyone had as great of a weekend as I did, like I mentioned yesterday I spent a vast majority hanging out with the Lawrence brothers, and obviously by that I meant I spent my weekend watching Brotherly Love & Melissa and Joey. It was fantastic... if you don't know who the Lawrence brothers are (yes I am looking at you best friend Nicole) please click here or here, have your memory jogged.

Tonight, True Blood. The last season. It's happening, and today I have the second Deborah Lippmann True Blood set to show you. This one included 3 minis. I had the same problem with this set as I did with the last set, while I think the black cherry sheer polish is fitting, what is up with the pink? Why? How is there no bright red?

So this is going to be super short and sweet as I am currently hanging out in a hotel room with my buddy Jill watching That Awkward Moment. Yay for long weekend horse shows!

So this was a polish from a Julep box that I skipped on. This was actually one that my bestie Nicole gave me. I don't know why I skipped the box because I have liked every polish I have subsequently received from it. This is a Silk polish so basically a semi matte shimmer. Good application.

So tonight I'm going to see the advanced screening of The Veronica Mars movie. Colour me excited!! I've been waiting forever for this. 

Okay so today I have one of those colours that matches my skintone just close enough that it made my camera flip the eff out. So forgive the funky tone in these pics. I'm still cleaning out old pics from my old camera (I only have about 3 swatches left) without my light box.

F.U.N. Lacquer - Mulan

Hey guys,

So remember when I said I had to get a mini of one of the polishes? well here it is. I sat on my butt and didn't buy Mulan, Pocahontas and Merida when I should have and when I decided I needed them I was too late. Then Mulan was discontinued and all that was left was a mini so this is the mini in my collection.

Mulan totally gets forgotten as far as Princesses go, she kicked BUTT and totally saved China. That movie rocks.

This is one of the more mellow holos in the collection, which of course looked great in person but my camera hates... I really need to get my light box up and running. However application was good, still two coats for full coverage.

Hey guys,

So this post was initially supposed to go up a LONNNNNNGGGG time ago but my swatch of this SUCKED so I redid it. I'm so much happier with how this turned out. I love the blue, pink & purple on the cream base. I also love this being a gradient. So pretty. I was so excited when I saw this for the first time. Sorry I could probably go on about the beautiful colour combo all day. I won't, I promise.

Zoya PixieDust Collection

So I mentioned back in my OPI Liquid Sand post about how stoked I was about the new textured polish trend. Well I finally got my hands on the Spring PixieDust collection from Zoya, it took me longer to get these posted than I would have liked because I really wanted to wear each of these and see how they wore through the day. Plus it's really necessary to let these dry for at least 20 minutes before trying to photograph them.

TV Inspired: Veronica Mars

Hey guys,

So today's manicure is inspired by a show that for me never gets old, Veronica Mars. The first two seasons of this will go down in history (well my history) as some of my favourite television ever. Everything was awesome, until it moved from UPN to The CW and shit hit the fan. Suddenly season 3 started and none of our questions went answered and, well, yes I'm clearly still quite bitter about season 3. Could have been epic, but no. Anyways Kristen Bell is still one of my favourite actresses, I think she's beautiful.

Deborah Lippmann - Modern Love

Hey guys,

So I just recently dipped my toes in the Deborah Lippmann pond for the first time. I seem to recall going on a rant a few months ago about I though Deborah Lippmann polishes were nice but not worth the hefty price tag or something like that. So when Nail Polish Canada recently had a 30% off of all DL stock for a limited time (like 4 days or something like that) I figured that it was the best time to see if they were really worth the extra dollars. I've wanted the True Blood DL's since I heard about them but for some reason NPC doesn't have them. So instead I picked up Mermaid's Dream & Modern Love. I had wanted Across the Universe but it was out of stock.

This is normally not a colour I would pick up, but Modern Love is the title of one of my favourite albums of all time (Matt Nathanson) so it was a good second choice. This was a colour that when I had it on my mom pretty much started drooling over to which my response was "Really?" It's a bit boring for me but as a base or as part as a funkier manicure it has potential.
