Island Girl - Pink Glow In The Dark (and Christmas Lights!)

Hey guys,

Well I hope everyone is having a good Christmas Eve, I've mostly just spent the day cleaning and watching American Dreams, tough life I know.

Today I have a polish I have to rant about for a minute. This is a white glitter glow in the dark topper, so WHY is it called PINK Glow in the Dark that makes ZERO sense, it doesn't glow pink, it glows green, it just makes no sense. That being said the glow was pretty good in this one.

Julep - Sheryl

Hey guys,

So I've got 2 fairly old posts left for you then I will have cleaned out my drafts. HOLY CRAP ON TOAST.
Also It's CFR Week which means JEANS, COWBOY BOOTS, AND PLAID. Sorry It makes me happy, plus I get to wear jeans at work which is ALWAYS good.

So I was actually looking for this swatch today so it makes sense to post it. Nicole gave me this in a bundle of random Juleps, I couldn't find which Julep family this belonged to so if anyone knows drop me a line. It went on a tad sheer, this is 3 coats.

Julep - Zora

Hey guys,

Yay more random Juleps! Seriously what would I do without people who feed my addiction?
The nerd brain in me is a collector with ZERO impulse control, so thank goodness my obsessive collecting behavior has always led me in a direction of: Movies, Music, Nail Polish. As opposed to drinking or drugs or anything else destructive because I would be SCREWED.

So this colour is super pretty and feminine and delicate but MAN does it HATE my skintone.
This was two coats, the shimmer makes brush strokes obvious so you just have to be careful.
I would love to see this polish on someone with a different less albino skin tone.

Julep - Lucy

Hey guys,

So there is no secret vampy red polishes, or just red polishes, or vampy polishes - are my favourite. If I was forced to wear only one shade of polish for the rest of my life I would probably choose a dark vampy red probably similar to this one. I like the jelly squishiness of this polish. Reminds me a lot of blood, perfect for vampire manicures.

This was three coats and this is still a bit sheer I didn't mind but it depends what look you're going for.

Julep - Korin

Hey guys,

So I have a fun green polish to show you guys. A month or two ago my bestie Nicole dropped off a bunch of random Juleps for me. This one was a total bitch to photograph -
Omg okay so speaking of total bitches did anyone see this week's episode of Ink Master?? First off I would like to say that I think any sort of competition like that is not an ideal tattooing environment, and that if you are going INTO a situation like that to get tattooed you basically have to be willing to let the artist do what they think is best with what you want while knowing FULL WELL that you may end of with something not quite like what you had in mind. That being said James Danger was hands down my fave contestant and was great about not getting into house drama or fights or anything like that so when he wound up with a completely unreasonable client who managed to needle a really laid back guy to the point where he felt like a cornered animal. He totally should not have been sent home for that. Ugh I'm so annoyed and I want to SLAP that girl. I get you don't want something you aren't happy with on your body but give the poor guy a chance to breathe.

Okay so back to the polish at hand. This is a crazy bright Kermit green that did NOT want to leave my fingers behind. Application however was a breeze.
This is two coats.

Avon - Romance

Hey guys,

So those of you who know me personally know how much of a planner I am, (which seems kind of weird sometimes) but I LOVE organization (unless you see my room, that doesn't count).
I love spreadsheets, alphabetization, and labels. So in an effort to buy less polish I am making a sincere effort to swatch and WEAR (the wearing is the big part) all my untried which aren't out of control right now, they're sitting somewhere around 20. Normally I would just swatch each polish in a night and called it a day, untried are no longer untried.

Then I run into the problem of having all these polishes that I haven't actually worn, they've only been swatched, which is silly. My other dilemma comes with sitting staring at my pile and trying to decide which polish to wear next, this for me is sometimes a long drawn out decision.

So what did I do? I made a schedule. I mapped out exactly when I was going to wear each polish. I have this in a spreadsheet and in a calander and even in reminders in my phone so I know exactly what comes next.

Extreme? Maybe, but it makes me feel better

That was kinda lengthy sorry. Today I have a random polish gifted to me by my bestie Nicole. It's a frosty mauve from Avon, aside from having to be careful about brushstrokes I had no problems formula wise and the brush on these polishes is fantastic. This was 2 coats.

Love & Beauty Glow - Neon Green

Hey guys,

So I've been on a roll with polishes that Nicole has given me, apparently I have had all these swatched but never got around to posting these. I absolutely love glow in the dark polishes around halloween. Of course I can't photograph the glow effect to save my life, so you'll just have to take my word for the fact that YES! it glows! WEEEEEE! Sorry I'm a nerd I know. Anyways so this super sheer so you either have to wear it over top of something or use at least 4 coats to get it semi-opaque.

Nicole by OPI Glitters

Hey guys,

So today I have a few random NOPI glitterbombs for you. I've been sitting on these since Christmas and I think it's time to share them with you since I totally love 'em. These are all full coverage glitters and seriously just blow my mind. I have three for you today. And of course my mini collection of NOPI glitterbombs as I've been calling them got started off by my lovely best friend Nicole.

Del Sol UV Polish - Reckless

Hey guys,

So this is kind of a neat polish that I got from my bestie Nicole. It's a UV colour changing polish. While digging around today I was hanging out on Scrangie's blog and noticed that she had removed all her reviews for Del Sol saying she no longer felt good about recommending this polish to people, apparently people have experienced poor customer service and they weren't honouring their satisfaction guarantee. I haven't had to deal with their customer service so I can't comment. This was given to me as a gift and seeing as I am part vampire and stick to the shadows anyway who knows if I'd buy any more. I had some major application issues, this polish just did NOT want to dry nicely for me, you can see the wonky bubbling on the ring finger. I was getting annoyed so instead of reswatching it I just rolled with it.

What amazed me was how fast this changes colour. Seriously a split second under the UV lamp and it was like BOOM pink! Then as soon as I pulled it out it started to fade so the pictures are the best I could do with this one. It's on the sheer side, so you'll need at least 3 coats. I think if you had the patience to really take your time with this it would be an awesome polish for a beach vacation.

Orly Random Swatches

Hey guys,

So a while back Orly was on BTR (as they frequently are) and my bestie Nicole noticed and surprised me with a few exciting picks, along with 2 Nail Art colours (not pictured).
Nicole has great taste and of course knows what I like so I was pretty excited to swatch these babies.

Avon - Absinthe

Hey guys,

So little personal story here for you, so lately I feel like I'm getting to be really good and responsible with money and stuff like that (Seriously not having to live paycheque to paycheque? Kinda nice. Still happens a lot but when it doesn't, COOL!) Anyways basically where I'm going with this is that I have become OBSESSED with knowing exactly where my money goes each month. That being said I feel like as far as obsessions go, being aware of your finances is NOT a bad one (being insane and stupid cheap yes thats a problem, but being aware is a different story) Wooo look at me I'm a grown up... almost... I'm still not convinced.

Anyways moving on, this is such a great Halloween colour! Glad I found this sitting in my drafts folder.
Chelsea is going to say it looks like vomit but I love it.

Avon - Deluxe Chocolate

Hey guys,

So today basking in my fall glee I decided that sometime end of October/beginning of November I'm going to do a Top Ten Favourite fall colours. So I'm kind of stoked for that.

That being said this is a fantastic fall colour... Maybe it'll make the list? This is a polish Nicole got me. I'm a total Chameleon when it comes to colours I really don't have anything that is a no fly zone (well except for nudes but that's only because I don't have any!) but I loooove browns. Chelsea thinks they're gross. But I love them.

This is

The application on this was actually fantastic when on perfectly in two coats. Very nice. Not the Avon I remember from years ago.

China Glaze - Celtic Sun (Neon)

Hey guys,

So tomorrow will be the next post in the Women of SOA series I'm doing so no worries.
Okay so this was a polish that I had been lusting after for a long time mostly because of the name, for some reason I'm semi obsessed with anything Celtic (except music and dancing) but I had pretty much let go of my hope of owning it when I picked up Sun-Kissed this year. Sun-Kissed is the version of this with a shimmer in it. Celtic Sun is just a flat satin finish highlighter yellow.
BUT this was brought to me by my lovely best friend Nicole and let me tell you I'm super stoked and happy to finally have this in my collection.

Rue Beauté - "Trifecta"

Hey guys,

So once again here I am making up polish names. Seriously though if you don't put a name on your bottle of polish I have no clue what else I'm expected to do.

This is a colour that Nicole found for me somewhere. It's one of those tri-coloured polishes that has a big "Do Not Shake" sticker on the top... I'm never quite sure how they work but this is mine.

Since it's a tri-coloured polish I've decided to name it "Trifecta"

This one is a Pink/Blue/Purple trio and finishes as a darker purple. It's actually really gorgeous on.
