Hey guys,

So since December is my birthday month and I was into this month's box I decided to treat myself and use my Jules for a full polish upgrade (ALL THE POLISH) and then a couple add ons of their new Whipped Lip mousses, and a cuticle oil which I love.

Cult Nails - Swanbourne

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday, I was at the farm helping move 300 bales of hay. So it was a busy day, and amazingly I managed to make out with only cracking the very tip off of one nail. So I'd say that is a success overall.

Today I have a polish for you that Nicole got from a subscription box. A long time ago I was quite a fan of Cult Nails but after a bit of a snarky comment from the owner I quickly fell out of love, and haven't bought any of her polishes since then. Anyways this was a polish I had always wanted anyways so talk about Serendipity that it would one day show up in my collection by surprise.
This is a dark brown jam packed with gold shimmer. Application was okay, it was a weird combination of runny and goopy. This was two coats.

Dollish Polish - Curse Your Sudden, But Inevitable Betrayal

Hey guys,

So I head home tomorrow, it was a fantastic week. I don't wanna go home! Okay I really mean I don't want to drive home. Thank goodness for Comedy radio and audiobooks! Whoop! Sorry for all the exclamation marks, it's been a long day and I'm getting pretty loopy.

Tonight's polish is inspired by Firefly which is a spectacular show that never reached it's full potential on TV (yes we mostly blame Fox... do please air episodes in order. kthnxbai.) More specifically Serenity the movie that followed the show. The polish name was from the most heartbreaking moment in the movie. Oh my heart and how it hurts. Anyways as far as polishes go this was so-so nothing super spectacular but not awful either. Reminds me a bit of rust.

Inspired by both Serenity and Wash's infamous dinosaurs, this gorgeous duochrome flashes from a chocolate brown, to green.

This is three coats.

Julep - Christine

Hey guys,

So yesterday I finished Hemlock Grove! It's driving me insane because I don't know anyone who watches it so I have no one to talk to about it! So frustrating. And True Blood? Don't even get me started ugh.

The other day my friend showed me a picture of her brown manicure she had gotten and was loving, she asked if I had many browns. Turns out I had one in my untrieds pile so I whipped it out and decided to wear it. This one is a chocolate brown full of silver shimmer. Completely unlike anything else I have.
Even better? This was one coat.

Rainbow Honey - Mystery Sample

Hey guys,

So big day for Canada in the Olympics, talk about an Epic comeback in women's hockey. USA played a great game, and we were all freaking out for a while. That empty goalpost save. HOLY CRAP! We all freaked.

So in with my birthday/Christmas present from Melissa was a Mystery Grab bag from Rainbow Honey. Inside was this Mystery Sample polish. I have no clue what this polish is called but MAN was it a weird one to describe. It is a charcoal jelly base that has green/purple duochrome flakies in it. It wasn't at all what I expected it to be. Definitely better than I expected. For some reason not knowing the name of this really weirds me out. This was 3 coats.

F.U.N. Lacquer - Pocahontas

Hey guys,

Next up is Pocahontas in which I was recently reminded that SHE DOESN'T GET THE GUY IN THE END! Not that that's what it's about or anything. My cousin sent me the greatest text a few months back about this: "Wtf, Pocahontas and John Smith don't even end up together?? I admit it's been a while since I've watched it, but I'm shocked. Even Jane stays with Tarzan and he lives with apes!"
That still cracks me up and is why my cousin Jess is one of my favourite people.

I managed to snag a full size of Pocahontas even after waiting a bit, Pocahontas was one of I think 4 that had an extended release. This is one of the strongest holos in the group.
This was 2 coats.

Villains: Scarecrow

Hey guys,

So Scarecrow is actually super freaky.. Of course his freakiness doesn't really translate to the nail.
Actually Scarecrows in general are pretty creepy, and the more that I think about it the more it's weirding me out. So yup this is going to be short and sweet because I need to go look at pictures of puppies and kittens now.

Comic Book Heroes: Rogue

Hey guys,

Happy Sunday, hope you all had a good weekend. I FINALLY went to go see Star Trek today, can someone please explain to me what took me so dang long? Yeah I'm a bit slow sometimes.
I've also been marathoning through One Tree Hill, I'm about half way through season 4. Ughhhh BEST SHOW EVER

Anyways Here is today's comic book hero!
Rogue! It was a tad awkward drawing boobs on my nails. Whatever. I always thought she was pretty much the coolest!

Rainbow Honey - Oni

Hey guys,

So today I have the last of my Rainbow Honey's and yes by this time I am DYING to place another order. I'm trying to be strong though, low-buy and everything. I'm also trying to tell myself I'm saving myself for a big China Glaze haul and the Dollish Polish restock next week. Here's hoping I can be strong.

This is the last polish from The Yokai collection. This could very well be THE perfect fall colour. I really love brown polishes, I find they really like my skintone. This one was no exception. This was 2 coats.

Sephora by OPI - Dating The Drummer

Hey guys,

So I was at Winners a couple weeks ago and randomly stumbled upon some SOPI polishes! I didn't know that Winners ever got SOPI polishes in so I quickly grabbed the two they had. Both polishes were from the same collection. This is the first of the two. I immediately fell in love with the name, I seriously love drummers, I don't even know what it is.

This is a brown polish (you know how I love browns) with blue and gold shimmer. It was different than anything I've seen and I totally love it. This was two coats.

OPI Oz Swatches

Hey guys

Today I have my two picks from OPI's Oz collection for you. I actually really kind of want the sheers in this collection as well but  had to prioritize and grab the two I thought I needed.

First up is a white square and iridescent square glitter topper. A lot of people have their panties in a twist over the white square glitter in this and how they aren't really perfectly square and some of them have tails on them. I can't say it bugged me, whatever I still really liked this. You had to place the white glitter a little but but it wasn't hard. This is two coats over SOPI Your Wish Is My Command.

Lights of Emerald City

Next is the liquid sand in the collection. by now you have to know that I love textured polishes and I love brown polishes. This one wasn't as sparkly as the Mariah Carey liquid sands but that doesn't mean I didn't totally still dig this. This was two coats.

What Wizardry Is This?

piCture pOlish - Vampire, Paradise, Demeter

Hey guys,

Well it's the start of another week, hope you all had a great weekend. I did my best to stay as far away as possible from Etsy and NPC because I am on somewhat of a lax no-buy right now, as in I'm just going to try my best not to buy anything for a while. Of course it had to snow this weekend so I pretty much just hibernated and watched movies and played with my nail polish. Melissa scoffs at my untrieds pile which currently sits at 18 polishes which to me seems like a lot. I am trying to swatch and wear to hopefully help me from buying more polishes.
Anyways so today I have some piCture pOlishes for you guys (it absolutely drives me NUTS to type it like that, my OCD freaks out)

TV Inspired: Duck Dynasty

Hey guys,

Today's manicure is Duck Dynasty okay so I f*cking LOVE this show. The first time I saw the preview I was like wow really? But never do I laugh as hard as I do watching this. I am so in love with the Robertson clan, and honestly one of my favourite things about this show is the respect that the kids show their parents and grandparents. I'm sorry but that kind of respect doesn't happen often these days. Love it, and I really loved getting to hang out with my cousins and just all laugh our asses off this past November during a DD marathon. The new rule is if you don't love it you can just GTFO of our family. BOOM.

Sorry I love it. Now you probably won't see that many American flags from me, not that I have any problem with that at all it just seems weird to be walking around with the stars and stripes on my nails, although This was my Presidents Day manicure so that seemed fitting. So here we have camo and of course one of Willie's bandannas (I couldn't draw a duck to save my life but in hindsight I should have drawn a beard!)

For this I used

OPI - Stranger Tides
China Glaze - Agro
China Glaze - Mahogany Magic
Bed Head - Master Mind
Cult Nails - Time Traveler
Orly Instant Artist in Crisp White & Fiery Red
Essie - Matte About You

TV Inspired: Veronica Mars

Hey guys,

So today's manicure is inspired by a show that for me never gets old, Veronica Mars. The first two seasons of this will go down in history (well my history) as some of my favourite television ever. Everything was awesome, until it moved from UPN to The CW and shit hit the fan. Suddenly season 3 started and none of our questions went answered and, well, yes I'm clearly still quite bitter about season 3. Could have been epic, but no. Anyways Kristen Bell is still one of my favourite actresses, I think she's beautiful.

So for this I have, Veronica's camera (please excuse my shitty camera drawing skills), the Mars Investigation logo, her faithful side-kick Backup! and then the lined paper from the opening. (excuse me while I start singing the Dandy Warhols)

For this I used
Bed Head - Master Mind
OPI - Don't Pretzel My Buttons
OPI - Suzi Loves Cowboys
China Glaze - Stone Cold
Sally Hansen - Black Out
Orly Instant Artist in Crisp White, Red & Jet Black
