Sally Hansen - Mighty Mango

Hey guys,

This is a polish that my best friend gave me. You all know I've changed my tune on Sally Hansen from when I started this blog. I really liked the application on this nice coral.

This was two coats.

Sally Hansen - Sonic Bloom

Hey guys,

I'm going to keep this short and sweet since it's late and I just want to wash my face and go to bed. I spent a long great night at the barn so bed sounds wonderful right now.

Today I have a polish I picked up in Brandon while I was on vacation I didn't bring any polish so when I needed something I thought I would grab an Insta Dri since I really enjoy them but have so few. So I picked up this awesome pinky-red. This was two coats and dried super quick.

Bestie Twin Nails Challenge: Water Marble

Hey guys,

Oh the dreaded Water marble. I SUCK at watermarbling. No matter how many tutorial videos or step by step Mucking Fusser tutorials I look at I just can't get the hang of it. Bubbles everywhere. That being said this isn't the worst one I have ever done. Water marbles involve the worst most annoying clean up. I seem to always get frustrated with the tape and just wind up vaseline coating my fingers. I give major props to people who can just water marble like it's second nature. Granted if I were to do it more often than once a year maybe I would be a lot better at it. Like the meme says though "ain't nobody got time for that"

Sally Hansen - Fuzzy Fantasy

Hey guys,

So while I was in Palm Springs, Nicole and I went to CVS because I needed to buy lip balm and nail supplies. While I was there I picked up 2 polishes, I had seen the Fuzzy Coat polishes around and had been curious but hadn't looked too hard for them in stores. So I decided to go for it and grab one.

Normally bar glitter is not my thing. Although I've come to realize that there seems to be a couple kinds of bar glitter - thicker and more sturdy bar glitter that is a pain in the butt and always wants to stick up. And the thinner almost softer bar glitter that is easy to work with. This bar glitter definitely falls into the latter category.
I wasn't sure how this would build up so I decided to take pictures at a bunch of different coats. I think I prefer one coat the best.

Sally Hansen - Grape Shifter

Hey guys,

So I don't know if anyone has seen the new Bitten show on Space yet, if you are a fan of Kelley Armstrong's books you will either love or hate it. I love the books and have fallen madly in love with the series. I don't agree with all the casting choices: namely Clay & Jeremy, but after two episodes I have watched more than once I have embraced Greyston Holt as Clay because he is ADORABLE. I'm still not sure of Jeremy though, I spent all day reading Bitten for the umpteenth time. I swear that book is the most tattered in my collection which is saying something because I tend to be anal about the condition of my books.

Anyways today's polish seemed fitting because of the whole "Grape Shifter" pun.... werewolves are shape shifters of a sort. Okay sorry I shouldn't have had to explain that.
I picked this pretty puppy (okay sorry enough with the wolf stuff I'm done) up in Palm Springs mostly cause it was so super sparkly and shiny. This is full of teal micro shimmer, and small purple glitter and larger silver holo glitters. This is one coat over AE-Guinevere

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Mane Event

Hey guys,

So this was the manicure I replaced yesterday's post with. I figured the whole "Mane Event" title was appropriate seeing as we were at Nationals. I'm thinking this is supposed to be zebra print?  The fact that its silver and pink makes it hard to know for sure.
This time around I had no problems with application since I was a pro at it. (I use that term loosely)

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Sweet Tart-an

Hey guys,

So this is a manicure I wore while I was in Brandon for Nationals, I actually picked it up over a year ago before headed down to Regionals for 2012. Anyways it lasted for almost the whole 10 days until I got bored and decided I needed a change. I always find that while these are fantastic for people who want an adorable manicure for about a week they are a total bitch to get off. It probably didn't help that I had a cheap bottle of remover and one cotton pad (not much forethought on my part). I also got a lot better at applying these last time around.

Gemstone Dotticure

Hey guys,

So amidst all the swatching I've done recently I was dying for just a fun nail art manicure so I decided to put the swatching on hold for a day and just do something fun. I just pulled out my dotting tools and went to town. It's a little bit all over the place but I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to go with this so I just said "eff it" and did it all. I think I like the thumb best here.

For this I used
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out
Femme Fatale - Emberstone
Femme Fatale - Dragonscale
Femme Fatale - Skyfire
Femme Fatale - Seaspray

Sally Hansen Swatch Spam

Hey guys,

So I'm going to try to clear out some old back log so that these don't wind up getting buried for too long. So for a couple days bare with me with some old & musty back log posts so I can move on to new stuff! Yay!

This post is comprised of Christmas presents I got at Christmas (see what I mean when I say old and musty??) Each of these was given to me by one of my lovely co workers.

Black & Pink Saran Wrap Manicure

Hey guys,

So a couple months ago I was just looking for something quick and easy. It had been a while since I had done a saran wrap manicure on myself, which struck me as silly, they're so easy and always turn out so great. I love black and pink together so this seemed to just make sense. I wound up getting a lot of compliments on this too.

For this I used

Island Girl - "Magic Mike"
Sally Hansen - Black Out

Enchanted Polish - Djinn In A Bottle

Hey guys,

So I'm pretty excited to show you this polish today. It is literally probably the coolest thing since sliced bread (or at least that's what my Grandpa would have said) I don't know why I haven't come across something like this before now. A Holo topcoat. So you can take ANY colour and make it a holo. Obviously not as holo as something like Nfu Oh but still holo and still amazing!
If you are a fan of holos, invest in this it is SO worth it!

Sally Hansen - Chrome Turquoise

Hey guys,

Today I have a SUPER oldie for you guys. I don't really know why I bother posting these super old polishes, but heck if they still work why not? I don't even want to guess how old this is (at least 10 years) You can even see where this polish exploded a bit when I used to keep all my polish in a make up bag. I would need one huge effing make up bag to fit my collection in now.

This is your typical super mirror-y foil, brush stroke city but super fast dry type and opaque in one coat. However I did two just for good measure.

TV Inspired: Rescue Me

Hey guys,

So one more manicure after this one! I won't lie I'm kind of stoked. After a month of really trying to push myself creatively I'm so looking forward to plain old boring manicures for a while!

Our manicure today is Rescue Me,
I love Denis Leary, if you haven't read "Why We Suck" or listened to the Audiobook please do it now. I have it on my ipod and listen to it all the time. I have some really great memories of watching Rescue Me, even though I haven't seen all of the final season yet (there were circumstances... and I just never got around to it)

I love fire manicures (I've done several different ones already) The FDNY insignia on my thumb is kind of weak, as a lame excuse I was under the gun to finish up and go to dinner so I rushed it, you can tell. Whatever the point comes across.

For this I used
Sally Hansen - Black Out
Orly Instant Artist in Fiery Red, Orange Peel, Jet Black
Art Club - Yellow

TV Inspired: Lost

Hey guys,

So we're nearing the end of the month! Wow, this month has flown by yet at the same time seems like it has taken forever. That being said here is our next manicure!
man I loved that show, I totally came in after it had ended so I was able to just marathon my way through all six seasons. I spent a lot of time googling everything while I watched because I hate not knowing how things end. (yes I'm the person who prefers to know how stressful situations end)

There was a lot I could have done but I really wanted to include the numbers that play a huge roll in the series, (if something freaky happens to me, we're blaming this manicure okay?)

For this I used
Sally Hansen - Black Out
Orly Instant Artist - Crisp White

TV Inspired: Roswell

Hey guys,

So I'm pretty much so insanely stoked right now. I really need to calm down otherwise I am going to start vibrating like a chihuahua. Starting NOW I've begun saving for a trip to Disneyworld. Now I've said it before I am a ridiculous Disney freak, like own all the movies, buy all the Disney stuff, annoy your friends with all your Disney references - kind of Disney freak. So Disneyworld is more or less my heaven. Except when we went last time and it happened so coincide with the Cheerleading finals or something like that. Too much spirit, and it didn't help that Dad kept telling me to go fight the annoying ones. Anyways so next Feb. Disneyworld + Me = Happy Happy Happy.

Okay sorry that was like word vomit. It just had to come out.
Today's manicure is Roswell, man do I miss that show. That being said I'm not 100% happy with how this turned out. the handprint is all funky and I totally misjudged size but I like the way the thumb turned out. I used the DVD box set covers as my colour inspiration. Anyways, so not my best but also not my worst

For this I used
Orly - Le Chateau
Avon - Glisten
Avon - Silver
OPI - Take The Stage
OPI - Did It On 'Em
OPI - Unfor-greta-bly Blue
Island Girl - Hawaiian Color
NYX - Thunder
NYX - Tahitian
