Beautifully Disney - Pop Of Minnie Set

Hey guys,

I'm really sorry for going MIA but I've had some family stuff going on behind the scenes here and life has been just a little bit crazy so I can't promise much this month. I'll try to keep you posted. However if I suddenly vanish into the ether a bit please forgive me as there is just a lot of stuff going on.

Today I have another of the discontinued Beautifully Disney mini sets for you. I also got this one while I was in Disney World with my cousin. This wasn't my favourite of the ones I bought but if greens and oranges are your thing this may be for you.

China Glaze - Kiwi Cool-Ada

Hey guys,

So today at work my entire department was off on a course with the exception of me and my coworker, it was like a ghost town on our floor. And then I have tomorrow off as well, since I forgot that I had booked it off. Whoops. Of course if I was smart I would have booked Monday off because Tuesday is a holiday but I definitely didn't realize that.

This is a polish I had waffled over for a long time, it is a bright lime green, it's much brighter in real life, for some reason my camera wanted nothing to do with the brightness of this. It's a neon so it was fairly sheer. It would have been better over a white base but I wanted to see how it would build up.
This is four coats.

Supernatural Lacquer - Yellow Eyed Demon

Hey guys,

So today I started listening to the audiobook for Helter Skelter at work today, it's the story of the Manson Murders. It is ridiculously creepy but totally fascinating. I love true crime books but they have to be audiobooks and I have to listen to them at work or I get scared. I'm such a wimp.

Oh and I totally stepped on a piece of glass today first thing in the morning. Not fun, hope no one notices the blood on the carpet. Whoops.

I have another of the Supernatural polishes to show you today! I have been looking forward to this polish for a while now. It's a neon yellow with black glitter. Based on the character of Azazel who at the beginning is known as the yellow eyed demon. It wasn't long after I ordered it when I got a message from Stefanie from Supernatural Lacquer (she is the sweetest!) saying that she noticed that despite passing several time and wear tests and being solvent resistant, some of the black glitter was now silver. So my bottle of YED was a bit blingy. She offered to replace it with another colour if I didn't want it. I wanted this so bad I decided it didn't matter, then we both agreed that Azazel was a bit sassy and would probably enjoy the bling.
This may pop a bit more over a white base coat but I like it this way. This is three coats with topcoat (it dries matte)

April Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

So I was super stoked when the reveal for the April box was released. The box was chock full of bright vivid colours, which I love. There was actually a lot of fantastic unique (to me anyways) colours in this box, so after a short battle with the rational half of my brain the compulsive half decided this month was an upgrade month. The colour descriptions are a bit interesting but that is neither here nor there. Oh man was I happy I went for the upgrade, click for more after the jump.

China Glaze - Heat Index

Hey Guys,

So back when Dad was sick my good friend Chelsea sent me a message asking what she should get on NPC. So of course my response was "Uhhh what are you looking for?" Then she said "No, what do YOU want?" Oh well so then I started racking my brain for collections I wanted but hadn't bought. So I just said China Glaze Sunsational! Well she surprised me with the whole set of JELLIES.

China Glaze - Pink Voltage

Hey guys,

So I don't know if anyone else is dying for some nicer weather (seriously I'm all for winter and everything but enough with the snow because it just makes everything so mucky) So I thought I would post a neon to help brighten things up. This colour just makes me super happy. And if I'm not mistaken this might be the colour that a friend of mine accidently painted the side of her house with. This came in a discount pack of China Glaze from NPC around christmas, this was one of my favourite colours from the package.
This was two coats.

China Glaze - Celtic Sun (Neon)

Hey guys,

So tomorrow will be the next post in the Women of SOA series I'm doing so no worries.
Okay so this was a polish that I had been lusting after for a long time mostly because of the name, for some reason I'm semi obsessed with anything Celtic (except music and dancing) but I had pretty much let go of my hope of owning it when I picked up Sun-Kissed this year. Sun-Kissed is the version of this with a shimmer in it. Celtic Sun is just a flat satin finish highlighter yellow.
BUT this was brought to me by my lovely best friend Nicole and let me tell you I'm super stoked and happy to finally have this in my collection.

Black Base VS White Base

Hey guys,

So when the Orly Feel the Vibe collection came out it came out with a Black polish (After Party) that while a gorgeous colour on it's own apparently doubles as a base for the neons in the collection.

For some reason using a black base under Neons never occurred to me, it seemed like white was the choice that made sense so I wondered, what would the difference between using a black base and a white base be?

For my white base I used Orly Au Champagne and for my black base I used Orly After Party.
For my neons I used my Island Girl "Magic Mike" polishes.

This is the black base. This took 4 coats of neon over the 1 coat of black. (No topcoat)

This is 2 coats of neon over 1 coat of the white (no topcoat)

Verdict: Most of the colours worked okay over the black (clearly not the yellow) but overall I think it looks a bit better with the white base. Aside from the yellow there isn't a HUGE difference.

China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard

Hey guys,

Okay so the first thing on my mind is the fact that today I discovered one of the hottest men on the planet. Ricki Hall... google him I'm obsessed. Seriously what a life-ruiner.
Moooooving on.
So I told you guys I started a Tumblr right?
http://rock-n-roll-glitter.tumblr.com/
It's mostly stuff I just love and makes me laugh. Chelsea got mad at me for posting stuff willy-nilly but thats how I roll.

For nails today we have a bright neon. YAY

this green is fantastic, so bright you gotta wear shades.

Bonus points if you can spot the flowers stamped with China Glaze Sun-Kissed

Island GIrl - "Tarzan"

Hey guys

Alright, so tonight I bring you the very last Island Girl polish named after a Magic Mike character.
Now while this definitely wasn't my favourite character, nor would I ever really want to see him strip, his characters name just fit so much better with the color of the polish than "Tito"

This one is named after Kevin Nash's character "Tarzan"

This is
Island Girl - "Tarzan"

Now more than being a neon green this is like "Crayola Box Grass Green" as Lindsay put it which is exactly how I felt as I wore it.

This dries as a satin/matte so this has a coat of Essie Good to Go over top.

Island Girl - "Ken"

Hey guys

So I have the second to last Magic Mike Island Girl Polish for you guys

This one is named after Matt Bomer's character Ken

Now quick note, I've loved Matt Bomer ever since he played Luc on Tru Calling. What a cutie.

This is
Island Girl - "Ken"

This one is hilighter yellow, and would be a lot better with a white basecoat, this was something like five coats, without a top coat

Tomorrow I'll post the last one. Any guesses to who it may be??

Island Girl - "The Kid"

Hey guys,

So now you know the whole story of the mystery Island Girl polishes.
I now have the next polish in the group for you, named after MY favourite stripper.

This polish gets it's name from Alex Pettyfer's character - Adam "The Kid"

This is
Island Girl - "The Kid"

it's a neon orange. I left this one without a top coat for the pictures for some random reason

Island Girl - "Big D*** Ritchie"

Hey guys,

So lets be honest out of all the Island Girl Hawaii polishes that Jill brought back from Vegas for me this one that we named probably makes me laugh the hardest.

Named after Joe Manganiello's character Big Dick Ritchie

I really can't help but giggle when I think about it.

Thank you AGAIN Island Girl Hawaii for not labelling the polishes that came in the 5-pack. It makes my world just a little bit happier.

Without further ado here is

Island Girl - Big Dick Ritchie

A neon purple. It dries matte so this is it with a coat of Essie Good To Go over top

Island Girl - "Magic Mike"

Hey guys

So remember when I said Jill brought me back a bunch of polishes from Vegas?
Well when I didn't respond to her text asking which colours I wanted soon enough she decided to get me this pack

Now there were no names on any of the polishes and all that was listed on the package was that the set is called Aloha Colors. So Jill gave these to me right after we saw the new Magic Mike movie... so Jill's genius idea was to name them all after Magic Mike characters. DONE haha

So why not start with the title character?
Named after Channing Tatum's character Magic Mike

This is
Island Girl - "Magic Mike"

A super hot pink (darker than the previously swatched Royal Hawaiian)
This dries satin/matte so this is with a coat of Essie Good to Go over top.

stay tuned for the rest!

Neon Green/Yellow Gradient

Hey Guys,

So I'm just trying to kill some time before everyone's home and I can go visit Breezer, so I figure that as soon as I actually get into this it shouldn't be too much of a wait.

So these are the two China Glaze summer neons I picked up. I love both of them to death and couldn't decide which to wear first so I thought screw it, lets do both.

I'm not sure what I was thinking with the lack of clean up here so sorry about that. Whoops

This is

my plan was flawed and apparently I did this too fast because I'm still waiting for people. grrr
