Rainbow Honey - Mystery Sample

Hey guys,

So big day for Canada in the Olympics, talk about an Epic comeback in women's hockey. USA played a great game, and we were all freaking out for a while. That empty goalpost save. HOLY CRAP! We all freaked.

So in with my birthday/Christmas present from Melissa was a Mystery Grab bag from Rainbow Honey. Inside was this Mystery Sample polish. I have no clue what this polish is called but MAN was it a weird one to describe. It is a charcoal jelly base that has green/purple duochrome flakies in it. It wasn't at all what I expected it to be. Definitely better than I expected. For some reason not knowing the name of this really weirds me out. This was 3 coats.

So I am currently getting tattooed as I type this. Woah look at me multitasking like a badass. Fingers crossed this is the end of my sleeve. I would like for it to be awesome and finished. That would be great. 

Anyways so I have another Rainbow Honey polish to show you guys. This is a red and purpley glitter topper in a bit of a tinted shimmer base. That's why I showed it over one black nail.

Sometimes I miss the simplicity of having square or squoval nails. It seems like filing your nails to a slightly rounded point shouldn't be that hard. And it isn't. Until you notice one day that one of the points is slightly off center - but only when you look from a certain angle. Or you have a way lopsided nail. Oh well one day I'll get it right. 

So for some reason I put off wearing this polish for a long time. I think I just felt the season wasn't right. I was prepared to not like it. Yellow and orange isn't always my jam. That being said. I totally wound up liking this. I like the flower glitters. They were a bit hard to fish out but it was doable. This is 2 coats (with big glitter placement) over Julep Marjorie.

Okay so I am admittedly one of the least sporty people out there. I hate running, I hate pretty much all physical activity that is not horseback riding. But I LOVE the Olympics. I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding this years Winter Olympics but I am definitely still watching. It's exciting! Plus holy banana crackers have you seen the Canadian Men's Bobsleigh team?? Holy crap!! I know what my favourite new winter sport is.

Today I have a glitter topper from Rainbow Honey, this beauty of course came from the head Rainbow Honey ambassador (In my mind anyways) my NPBFF Melissa.
This is described as: Fresh cranberries accented with apples, spices, and a bright blue shimmer.
Glitter pay off was pretty decent here. This is one coat over white gold

Anyone else happy this week is almost over? This week has been dragging and I totally blame the fact that my cubicle mate is on vacation, I had gotten used to being by myself in the cubicles last year but for the past few months I've gotten used to having a buddy. I'll admit it, I miss her.

This beauty came in my Christmas/B-day package from my NPBFF (which I haven't forgotten HER birthday just throwing that out there) This is a gorgeous red shimmer with blue/purple flecks in it. So pretty.

Hey guys,

So first off I'm going to point out I am not thrilled with how the two pinks in this manicure played off of each other, the blue flash in Popular doesn't play nice with Pink Cloud, oh well hindsight's 20/20 and all.

I probably could have built up Pink Cloud, I tried to do a glitter gradient but this was a lot more opaque than I expected it to be.
This was 2 coats on the ring & thumb, with a semi glitter gradient on the rest.

Hey guys,

So I had these grand plans of "Oh this will be awesome! I will put the polish on and then make a phoenix outline and it will be SO COOL. Nope, looks ridiculous, however you guys know I'm not above showing you my bizarre mistakes.

I'm not sure how I really feel about this glitter topper. I'm sure I just really need to find the perfect base colour to set it off. Anyone have any ideas?  This is one coat over Julep - Dakota.
Oh and thats supposed to be fire on my ring finger... I'm just shaking my head here.

Happy Christmas Eve-Eve... or Happy Festivus. I am currently watching my very first black person Christmas movie (I didn't know this was a thing, I never thought of my Christmas movies as black or white...) So far so good, it's much raunchier than I expected.

So I have one day left of work before my Christmas break... I can't fricken wait. I seriously plan on living in my PJ's and watching obscene amounts of TV. I'll be surprised if I even eat. I still have to finish some shopping then wrap everything. I hate wrapping. I mean I love UNWRAPPING things but the wrapping part sucks big time.

Today I have another Rainbow honey, this one is a shimmery iridescent topcoat, this polish reminds me of a scarf I crocheted myself that has the same lime green/white shimmer to it. I can't remember what I layered this over, could be OPI Gargantuan Green Grape but I'm not 100% sure. This was one coat.
