Essie Sleek Stick - Sneek-e

Hey guys,

So these were given to me by my friend Nicole to try out since she always has gel nails so she really has no use for these.

Since they are Essie I was SO hoping that they would be the nail polish strips and not just flipping nail stickers.
No dice, these are stickers. Which means I'm probably going to hate them.

Sure enough I was hoping these puppies would last through my horse show in June but NOPE they lasted a DAY before they were peeling right off. I like the idea and the pattern but I HATE the stickers. They just don't last. After these peeled off I went and stole some old Sally Hansen nail strips my mom had gotten for christmas a couple years ago (You snooze you lose mom) And those worked perfect. Skip Essie, go for Sally Hansen

Born Pretty Store - Starry Night Nail Foil Strips

Hey guys,
So tonight I have my last product review from the Born Pretty Store I'm not always a fan of nail strips I love the Sally Hansen ones, but I HATED the Kiss ones. For far my experience has been that the real polish ones are great but the sticker ones stink. That being said I'm always up to try new things so why not see what BPS had to offer, plus these were just so pretty.

Well these turned out to be the sticker ones, which means they're easy to apply and easier to peel off.
I so wish I had my long nails with these so I could have gotten more of the starry design on them.
I chose each sticker based on the width for my nails.

I found it was easiest to pinch the ends together since I have a fairly string c-curve in my nail and I find this helps the edges on the nails from popping up.

Then I smoothed out the edges on my nails pressing firmly. I had troubles with my index finger since the strip was a bit too wide and unlike the polish ones you can't really stretch these ones to fit your nails.
Then I snipped off most of the excess and used a nail file to finish it up.

I found that the edges were left kind of rough (even after using a fine nail file) and wanted to lift pretty easily if I wasn't careful, however they survived a bath and a long weekend, with a bit of TLC and care (ie. being really gentle to my nails) Then they were really easy to remove and just peeled right off.

Bottomline: These aren't my favourite as I prefer the non-sticker type nail wraps but in a pinch these work and if you're not super skilled at nail art they make it pretty easy to get a fun manicure.

Head over to the Born Pretty Store to get some of your own.

Kiss Nail Dress - Double Lutz

Hey guys,

So a while back Influenster sent me some press on nails to review, basically the way influenster works is they send you something then you have to review it and then complete "challenges" then if you complete all the challenges they send you a thank you gift. Well my thank you gift finally arrived.  It included another set of the press on nails and then a set of these Kiss Nail Dress nail strips.

So I thought I would try out these nail strips.
The only other nail strips I have tried are the Sally Hansen real polish ones. It doesn't really say but these aren't real polish, they're basically stickers. They come in a bunch of different sizes and this one has two different options for looks.
As far as instructions go there wasn't really anything too helpful about application or removal.
They didn't want to lay flat, and because they aren't made of polish you couldn't really stretch them to fit and lay flat.
So on my cinderella hand (eep yes there is a picture of it in it's misshapen glory) I tried to use a coat of SV to seal the edges, well THAT was a mistake, the top coat basically ATE the strip. Whoops.
Then there aren't any instructions on removal, I'm always leery of just peeling things off of my nails. But Apparently that is what you're supposed to do.

Anyways long story short I hated these, and for the price (I think about $7-$10 a pack) I will just buy the  Sally Hansen nail strips. Oh and my boyfriend said that my nails looked like they were wearing underwear. So that happened.

So my advice - Save your money.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Mane Event

Hey guys,

So this was the manicure I replaced yesterday's post with. I figured the whole "Mane Event" title was appropriate seeing as we were at Nationals. I'm thinking this is supposed to be zebra print?  The fact that its silver and pink makes it hard to know for sure.
This time around I had no problems with application since I was a pro at it. (I use that term loosely)

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Sweet Tart-an

Hey guys,

So this is a manicure I wore while I was in Brandon for Nationals, I actually picked it up over a year ago before headed down to Regionals for 2012. Anyways it lasted for almost the whole 10 days until I got bored and decided I needed a change. I always find that while these are fantastic for people who want an adorable manicure for about a week they are a total bitch to get off. It probably didn't help that I had a cheap bottle of remover and one cotton pad (not much forethought on my part). I also got a lot better at applying these last time around.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - I Love Lacey

Hey guys,

So while I was away at Regionals a couple weeks ago I knew that if I decided to paint my nails every single day I was pretty much opening myself to the "OMG you're on vacation!" conversation with everyone. So I figured it was the perfect time to try out the Nail Lacquer strips that a few different brands have come out with. I had heard that Sally Hansen had a Rock of Ages Salon Effects collection.

Considering my love for that movie, seemed like the perfect solution. Except when I went to the drugstore to grab them the Rock of Ages display had vanished. So I was pretty much hooped. Because instead of looking into which strips were in the collection I went in blind. So I pretty much just grabbed a couple that seemed rock & roll.

I wore mine with a top coat and had some chipping, but after a week they were still going strong plus they were a total bitch to get off once I wanted them gone.
