NYX - Princess

Hey guys,

So a couple weeks ago I headed to Save On where I've found these NYX polishes for cheap for the past year to find they had all be replaced with NYX's new professional line. Not that it matters I was just kind of bummed my $1.99 polish (it was always like $4 off with a save on more membership) had vanished.

This one is on the sheer side, this is three coats but it could have used another. I've never had any problems with their formula being easy to work with and this polish was no different. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this colour but you never know when you're going to need a fuschia!

TV Inspired: My Little Pony

Hey guys,

So there are a few of you who are going to shake your head at me for this one but you should also not be surprised.

Today's manicure is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic I just recently started watching this, having been a huge MLP growing up (I still remember watching My Little Pony on YTV on the weekends) and I watched the MLP Movie more times than I can count, I'm surprised my VHS never crapped out. I've known about the whole Brony thing and such for a while now but hadn't bothered to look into it much. Well I'm glad I finally did, it's super cute. Everyone knows that I'm a 5 year old at heart so yeah love it.

For this I did 5 of the pony's cutie marks... or tried to, I realize my colours are a bit off. I left out Twilight Sparkle just because when it comes down to it, the other 5 were friends before she came along anyways. Fluttershy got the thumb because she's my favourite.

Hey guys,

So I'm pretty much so insanely stoked right now. I really need to calm down otherwise I am going to start vibrating like a chihuahua. Starting NOW I've begun saving for a trip to Disneyworld. Now I've said it before I am a ridiculous Disney freak, like own all the movies, buy all the Disney stuff, annoy your friends with all your Disney references - kind of Disney freak. So Disneyworld is more or less my heaven. Except when we went last time and it happened so coincide with the Cheerleading finals or something like that. Too much spirit, and it didn't help that Dad kept telling me to go fight the annoying ones. Anyways so next Feb. Disneyworld + Me = Happy Happy Happy.

Okay sorry that was like word vomit. It just had to come out.

Today's manicure is Roswell, man do I miss that show. That being said I'm not 100% happy with how this turned out. the handprint is all funky and I totally misjudged size but I like the way the thumb turned out. I used the DVD box set covers as my colour inspiration. Anyways, so not my best but also not my worst

Hey guys,

So tonight we have some 2 Broke Girls for you. I really love Kat Dennings and I've had more than one person tell me that her character in the show could be my (fraternal) twin. Also she has a horse in her backyard which is pretty much my dream, except I don't know if Briar would be totally cool with Breezer and Timmi invading her backyard. 

I actually really liked how this turned out, the uniforms are kind of wonky and apparently I didn't feel the need to clean up at all after this one, so just look past that.

TV Inspired: One Tree Hill

So today's manicure belongs to my all time favourite show One Tree Hill, I've talked about this before (heck I did a whole OTH series last year. I still can't believe this is the first TV season without it. I really can't think too hard about it or I get all choked up (I was pretty damn committed, even have an OTH inspired tattoo) 

Anyways so I wanted this to be different than any of the manicures I did last year. So this one is a bit more artsy. This was my first time trying out striping tape. So far in my opinion it's kind of a pain. It worked well on the black polish but wanted to pull up the white.

TV Inspired: Smallville

Hey guys,

Today's TV manicure is: Smallville. Now anyone who knows me knows I am a huge Superman fan, and when Smallville debuted back in 2001 I watched it religiously. Then somewhere around season 6 I lost interest and got tired, not because I didn't still love the characters (okay Chloe drove me nuts) but because I am a terrible victim of mid-season lulls. Those mid-season breaks kill me and I have a tendancy to lose interest. However around season 9 I began watching again, and rewatched all the episodes back from the pilot and re-fell in love and finished the series out through the 10th and final season. 

So this manicure showcases the earlier days of Smallville.

We have the Kryptonian symbol etched in the wall of the cave, the Smallville High colours, and of course Kryptonite.

TV Inspired: Pushing Daisies

So a few weeks back I talked about my brand new obsession of Pushing Daisies I love this show I'm so bummed that it only lasted 22 episodes. Seriously what kind of crap is that??! Sorry, it makes me sad that it didn't last cause this show was super adorable. Anyways this would up being the first TV Inspired Manicure I did.

Wow so sorry I haven't posted in a few days I've literally been so busy that I hadn't even thought about it until today which is so not like me.
This next week is going to be crazy as well but I'm going to try to get myself sorted out enough that nothing slips by the wayside.

8 Days of Halloween - Day 8 - Vamp Gradient

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

So I hope everyone is having a Happy and SAFE Halloween!

I was totally panicking over this manicure, I couldn't figure out how I wanted to go with this. After some creative input from Chelsea this is what I came up with. These are my Vamp nails. Pretty much what I would do my nails like if I were a badass vampire.

I tried a crackle gradient and it turned out looking super cool.

Normally I would have colour corrected this photos a bit but the polish looks true-to-life and my skin looks eerily vampiric, (yes I am that pale) so it seemed fitting for halloween.

So exciting news, yesterday I got my package from Cirque in the mail! EEEEk! So pumped. I'm going to go into more detail when I actually swatch the polishes.

Um in other news I've been feeling great lately! (Ever just have that feeling that all the pieces are falling into place? Thats the feeling I've got going on right now.)

Not much else going on, the plan is to maybe go shopping tomorrow (excited? yes yes I am)
I plan to take my first step into buying a pair of expensive jeans. Believe it or not clothes is an area that I have a really hard time spending money on. I live for comfort & versatility. Threadless.com is my favourite place to shop for shirts (my goal is to one day have enough threadless shirts that I'll have enough to make another bangin' t shirt quilt. So wish me luck!

So work has been crazy insane for the past couple days and holy crap I cannot wait for my vacation!! I really just can't wait to chuck the deuces up and say PEACE for a week... So just a quick post because I'm up to my ears in updating pictures and spreadsheets and such. Regionals is looming next week! I'm going to try and do my best to post while I'm there, I will have my laptop. Also I'm going to attempt to try out some of Sally Hansen's Salon Effects for the week. I saw some Rock of Ages ones at Rexall, and if I'm going to pay $10 for a single manicure I plan on making them last as long as possible so why not make it during a vacation where I will be made fun of hardcore if I paint my nails everyday.

Anyways k moving on I've finally been getting through a bunch of half watched box sets and can now move onto unwatched box sets YAY. On the docket? Torchwood I'm 1.2 episodes in. So far so good.

Japanese Rose Garden Graffiti'd

Hey guys,

So I had a freakin miserable day. First off I was slated to help with inventory at work. Which makes me long for the days of having to do inventory when I worked at Pookey's. At least inventory was inside.
Well for those of you who don't live in my area (You know who you are) yesterday mother nature decided to make it snow. Cold, wet, rainy snow.
So basically I spent the whole morning freezing.
Then the whole afternoon in front of Kathryn's space heater cranked on high trying to dry out my jeans and boots.

Anyways I'm done whining.

So today I have ANOTHER one of Nicole's polishes to show you

This is OPI Japanese Rose Garden

It's a really pretty frosty rose colour.
You can tell this is an older bottle because the name is in black on the bottle.
For the past several years all OPI's polishes have been Big 3 Free and you can tell from the polish names printed in green,

To spice this up a tad I put some NYX Graffiti on my ring & pinky fingers
