New Years Eve 2012 Manicure

Hey guys,

I hope everyone has exciting plans for New Years (and if you don't no worries, you'll receive no judgement from me) I have to go pick up my bestie and her boyfriend from the airport then I'm on to cuddle my friend's brand new Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, (and her full grown Bernese as well)

This is my manicure for the day though. Please forgive the lack of clean up and my insane cuticles. I've been house/dog sitting for the past several days and have been away from all my tools. Both these polishes are from Chelsea's collection.

For this I used

Zoya - Raven
Orly - Bubbly Bombshell

OPI - Tomorrow Never Dies

Hey Guys,

So it's been a long day and while it's still relatively early I imagine I will be going to bed soon. It was a tattoo day for me so I'm totally beat. Tattoo's still not done, I'm predicting at least 2 more sittings.

I can't believe I haven't posted this yet. This was one of the polishes my secret santa Roxette sent me. This is gorgeous but of course won't photograph worth a crap so while it's very blue in all these pictures while I wore this polish I spent the whole day trying to decide whether it was blue or purple (still not sure which I decided on) Anyways it's gorgeous and almost made my top 10 for 2012.

Avon - "Silver"

Hey guys,

So remember that polish no-buy I talked about a few weeks ago. Well that seems to have gone completely out the window. Seriously what is wrong with me? Oh right addiction. Well the boxing day sale at NPC got to me. I also hit up ebay and got a bunch of swatching wheels so I can finally catalogue all my polishes in swatch form as well. No doubt that'll make it easier and less daunting when friends want to pick out a polish to borrow. Also we know how much I love keeping my collections in order which will be awesome because my actual collection is insane (chaotic drawers just jumbled together, uggh I hate it) Also riddle me this batman, how can I be so OCD with my DVD collection & my polish collection yet my room literally looks like a bomb exploded.

Moving on, so this swatch has literally been sitting in my drafts box forever with it's "siblings" and I keep passing over it for more exciting manicures or polishes. Well time to set this baby free.

This is

Avon Mirror Shine - "Silver"
I actually have no clue what the real name of the polish is because the sticker on the bottom vanished sometime over the ten years of owning this polish.

Dollish Polish - Girls Rule, Boys Drool

Hey guys,

So starting today, I'm going to be hanging out with my nephew the golden retriever Crosby for a few days while his Momma is away visiting her sister. I feel kind of bad though because today is my baby girl Briar's 6th birthday and I had to leave her. Not before I gave her her birthday cake though so I feel slightly better.

So I think Indie polishes are fantastic there are more than a few brands I want to try super badly but I'm terrible for never actually ordering them when I get a chance so when Dollish Polish announced that for it's limited run polish Girls Rule Boys Drool, you could enter your name into a lottery. Well I thought might as well really what are the odds I'll get chosen. Well I did and this pretty baby was on it's way to me.

This is
Dollish Polish - Girls Rule, Boys Drool

For a base Sparitual - Thunder Road was used. There are 2 coats of GRBD on the thumb & ring finger. One coat on the rest. The glitter is matte and pretty dense. I have no doubt you could get this to be opaque with 3 coats. Or at least nearly opaque.

My Top 10 of 2012

Hey guys,

So it took me a while to narrow down my top 10 because over the past year I have gone from owning about 20 polishes to close to 350 (I know that's small beans compared to most of the bloggers out there.)

These are in no particular order. (click the name to go to the original post)

A England - Ascalon

Cirque - Dark Horse

Cult Nails - Flushed (swatch post coming soon)

Cult Nails - Charming (swatch post coming soon)

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

A England - Tristam

OPI - DS Magic

Zoya - Julieanne

Sephora by OPI - Studs & Stilettos

So we can see no creme's made the list, that wasn't intentional clearly nothing blew me away enough to make my list. I think it'll be interesting to see this time next year if any of these are still on my list. Or if the same trends remain.

Gold Jelly Sandwich

Hey guys,

So one of my favourite things to do on the Christmas break is go hard and marathon my way through entire series of different shows, Alias, Chuck, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles are a few of my past Christmas obsessions. This year it's Stargate Atlantis, yes I occasionally get my geek on for the sole purpose of drooling over sexy guys. In this case Jason Momoa was the catalyst. He's so yummy.

So this jelly was a polish that intrigued me for no other reason that it's the most bizarre ugly colour. Well I obviously had to have it and I happened to have enough reward points on NPC to get it. Of course as soon as I put it on I was like wow this is pretty awful. But I kind of liked it too so thought I might as well add a glitter and make a sammich!

For this I used
Nfu Oh - JS39
Color Club - Take The Stage

OPI - Piroutte My Whistle

Hey guys,

So a few days ago a got a whack of OPI polishes in the mail (thank you Beyond the Rack!) I can't remember if I told you guys yet or not but anyways I'm pretty much dying to swatch them all of you but that will most likely have to wait until the new year because themed mani's are pretty much whats in the schedule for the rest of the month.

That being said today's swatch doubles as a winter themed manicure. I toyed with calling this post "Glitter Snow Falling" but then decided that I might as well just post it as a swatch.

This is
OPI - Pirouette My Whistle
over top of OPI - Yoga-ta Get this Blue

The brushed glitter it beautiful and looks like snow falling in the night sky.

I wound up with 5 new polishes that I'll have to swatch soon although at the size of my swatch pile it may not be until the new year.

So I saw this dotted Christmas tree design on Instagram and couldn't wait to try it.

For this I used

China Glaze - Snow
Zoya - Holly
Zoya - Isla
Bed Head - Uptight

Fire Tape Manicure

Hey guys,

So two and a half days left of work until the break! So exciting.
Right now I'm working on my Top Ten favourite polishes of 2012. Currently the list is sitting around 15 polishes. so I'll do my best to whittle that down and post that some time next week.

So I've been hating on tape manis for a long time. They never seem to work for me. 99% of the time I jump the gun and wind up pulling half my base off. This turned out pretty good though.

For this I used
China Glaze - Riveting
Kat Von D - Sparklehorse
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out

Green Ornament Manicure

Hey guys,

So I got my baking done today! Okay "baking" may be a bit of a cop out considering I only made one type of cookie from scratch, the rest came from a package. Oh well as far as I'm concerned baking is baking! The guys will get what they're gonna get, and if they don't like it well then next year they get NOTHING haha. I don't know who I'm kidding.

Well I hope everyone is super stoked for Christmas! only 8 days away! (The countdown to Christmas on the ABC Family website MIGHT just be my favourite thing right now.) Memo to everyone it's also 8 Days until my birthday just incase anyone forgot!

For this I used

Zoya - Holly
Quo Instant Artist - Platinum Glitter

White Jelly Sandwich

Hey guys,

So tonight I went and saw Rise of the Guardians. Omg I loved it so much! It's like a super amazing Christmas movie without actually being a Christmas movie. So awesome, and the elves are amazing.

Sorry this is going to be short and sweet, it's getting late and I'm totally distracted by Jay Ryan on Beauty & the Beast. Sorry guys! But here's my next jelly sandwich!

For this I used

OPI - Don't Touch My Tutu!
China Glaze - Lush & Luxe

Holographic Argyle

Hey guys,

So my Instagram secret santa present finally came today! Huge shout out to Roxette at That One Nail Blog who got my name. So exciting, she totally knocked it out of the park for me! I got 2 OPI's (Tomorrow Never Dies & Every Month is Oktoberfest) & China Glaze Ruby Pumps (which I've only been lusting over for AGES!) I'll swatch these for you guys soon! along with the three amazing polishes I got the cutest set of nail clippers (the toenail clippers are shaped like a foot and are zebra print... WHAAAAATTTT sorry I'm clearly still so excited) And two different sized emery boards.

Okay I need to move on before my head explodes. Okay so this was kind of a botched attempt at an Argyle pattern. The white needs to be dotted but whatever I won't dwell on it. I still like this

For this I used

Nfu Oh - 64
Nfu Oh - 65
Orly Instant Artist - Crisp White

(p.s. if you wanna follow me on instagram knock yourself out @puckzilla23 just a disclaimer that its my personal account so it's a lot of random stuff, pictures of my dog, my horses and then some nail pics as well. You've been warned)
