Zoya - Rory

Hey guys,

I promised to blog a bit while I was on vacation so this is pretty much what you're going to get.
Today was day one of regionals for us. One class and a top five. Pretty good for day one if you ask me. I'm pretty tired so I'm just going to keep this short and sweet

OPI - Just Spotted The Lizard

Hey guys,

When I saw Spider-man last week I promised to swatch what I had of OPI's new Amazing Spider-man collection. Well it took me a few days to get around to posting it but without further adieu here is one of my favourite colours that I have.

This is

OPI - Just Spotted The Lizard

It's a green and gold duochrome which everyone is saying is a dupe for Chanel Peridot. Well I don't have Peridot so I can't comment but I can tell you this is very cool. I do have a soft spot for duochromes.

Warren London Pawdicure Polish Pen - Paw-ty In Pink

Hey guys,

So back when I started this blog I promised that my pooch. Briar Rose would make a cameo sometimes.
Well this is a post I've been waiting to do for a while.

Let me start with this. People who paint their dog's nails kind of disgust me. Anyways but that being said, I'm really not above disgusting myself, and making people roll their eyes. Would I dye my dog pink if I thought she'd let me? Maybe.... purple or blue might be more likely. Rest easy people, Briar would NEVER let me and my family would probably disown me.

Now unlike Simba, my dog growing up. Briar is MY dog, not the family dog. Mine.
A four month old Briar Rose helping with the laundry

Briar Rose this week.

Sorry I got a little sidetracked when I was looking through pictures.

Now when I saw a display full of "Pet Polish Pens" at my local dog food store. I really couldn't resist.
Briar HATES anyone touching her front feet (which is why her nails are so long) good thing this stuff is in a pen because I pretty much had to chase her around the backyard and get one nail at a time.

While the application would have been much more even with a dog who gives you their paws. (Crosby might be a better nail model but his mother & father would MURDER me and never let me house sit again.) This dries really quickly. 2 coats would have been better but it stayed on for about a week with a lot of wear and chipping which is to be expected on account of Briar could give a crap about if her nails are pink or not.

Watermelon Manicure

Hey guys,

So work has been crazy insane for the past couple days and holy crap I cannot wait for my vacation!! I really just can't wait to chuck the deuces up and say PEACE for a week... Sorry that was gross I'm going to put my fake gangster away. Also exciting news! One of my super good friends is getting married this weekend! Can't wait to see her walk down the aisle.

So I figured I better post this before watermelon season is over!
I'm not 100% happy with how this turned out but it was cute and people seemed to like it.

For this I used

(Pink) Zoya - Lo
(White) Essie - Blanc
(Green) NYX - Tahitian
(Black) Orly Instant Artist - Jet Black
(Glitter) OPI - Excuse Moi

NYX - Dancing Queen

Hey guys,

So just a quick post because I'm up to my ears in updating pictures and spreadsheets and such. Regionals is looming next week! I'm going to try and do my best to post while I'm there, I will have my laptop. Also I'm going to attempt to try out some of Sally Hansen's Salon Effects for the week. I saw some Rock of Ages ones at Rexall, and if I'm going to pay $10 for a single manicure I plan on making them last as long as possible so why not make it during a vacation where I will be made fun of hardcore if I paint my nails everyday.

This is

NYX - Dancing Queen

a silver foily type polish. This was 2 coats.

OPI Red Lights Ahead... Where

Hey guys,

okay so I have been listening to nothing but 80s rock all day on account of seeing Rock of Ages yesterday. I seriously think every Monday should be 80s Monday. I must have listened to Jukebox Hero like 20 times. Anyways you can pretty much expect to see some rock inspired nails soon!

This is
OPI - Red Lights Ahead... Where

From the Holland collection this is a bright red that leans a bit to the orange side (almost a bit like Zoya LC but I haven't compared them side by side)

Pink Bleeding Gradient

Hey guys,

So right now I would pretty much kill for some mini donuts right now. Random? yes. extremely. It's mostly because I know Capital Ex is happening and that mini donuts are in abundance there. Also I haven't eaten breakfast yet and it's killlllllling me haha. Okay that was a bit dramatic.

So this is the second "bleeding" gradient that I've tried and this one worked a lot better than the first... I don't even remember what the first was I just remember it didn't work.

The theory behind this is you put a couple drops of polish on one end of the nail and then a few drops on the other end and that they bleed together.
You can see it worked better on some nails than others.

For this I used
OPI My Chihuahua Bites!
Zoya Lo
Zoya Chloe (flakie)

A England - Lancelot

Hey guys,

So tonight I'm staying with the golden wonder. That's right, Mr. Crosby and holy crap is my little guy getting big. He's helping me blog.

2wqqxdddesas -Crosby (this was his contribution to the blog that pretty much came from him licking my keyboard)

And here is a picture of him doing so
Alright moving on!

This is
A England - Lancelot

This colour reminds me of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, it's that purple so dark it's black. I'm such a sucker for dark vampy polishes so this is right up my alley. The formula is great went on in ALMOST one coat.

Revlon FrenchMix - Moonstruck

Hey guys,

So yesterday was Mom's birthday and I would like to welcome into the family, her new fancy iPad. haha it's pretty neat. Anyways moving on.

I saw The Amazing Spider-man tonight, HOLLLLLYYYY CRAP. Loved it anyways it was the kick in the pants I needed to get around to swatching my Spider-man minis! But more on that next week (most likely especially assuming that next week is as wild and crazy as this week was.

Tonight I have another of the funky Revlon's I picked up.

This is Revlon FrenchMix - Moonstruck

a light purple with silver glitter in it and a darker shimmery purple.

Also I've heard buzz on a Wet N Wild Saved by the Bell polish collection that just came out... fingers crossed I can find it somewhere here!!!

NYX - Tahitian

Hey guys,

So before I get super sidetracked I need to make this short and sweet.
So I started making a t-shirt quilt this weekend. So far it's a hot mess. Let me tell you I better not have chopped up my t-shirts for NOTHING haha
Anyways k moving on I've finally been getting through a bunch of half watched box sets and can now move onto unwatched box sets YAY. On the docket? Torchwood I'm 1.2 episodes in. So far so good.

Today I have a swatch I've been sitting on forever,
this is
NYX - Tahitian

So I used to be madly in love with NYX until Lindsay actually read the teenie tiny printing on the back and discovered that it's in fact not Big 3 free like I just randomly assumed (shame on me)
Now while I can still appreciate the brand and some of the great colours I now have to love it slightly less.

Zoya - LC

Hey guys,

So like most girls a few years ago my best friend and I were totally obsessed with Laguna Beach to the point that my not so secret codename for Nicole is Lo while mine was LC. Aww the good old crazy days before my bestie started working wayyyyy up north. So needless to say when I saw the Zoya polishes named after the girls from The Hills I freaked out.

This is
Zoya - LC

I love this corally red colour

Red & White Watermarble

Hey guys,

haha so it's getting to the point I don't even know why I bother trying to watermarble. Seriously it just always turns out bad and everytime I see a picture of an amazing marble I curse the gods and wonder how some people are SO good!!
But I'm not above showing you guys my awful nail fails. This was supposed to be my Canada Day manicure but then it turned out horribly and that was scrapped. Obviously not before I could take pictures and show you guys

For this monstrosity I used

OPI - Big Apple Red
Zoya - Stella
Essie - Blanc
Orly - Au Champagne

Island Girl - Hawaiian Color

Hey guys,

So I know I said yesterday was the last Magic Mike polish BUT I couldn't resist giving you guys a Bonus
Now while this one came with a name "Hawaiian Color" but if you ask me that's a crummy name so instead I told Jill that I wanted to call it "Gold Lamé G-String" she suggested we name it after Matthew McConaughey's character Dallas

That made a lot more sense because this colour IS Dallas haha

so this is

Island Girl - Hawaiian Color aka "Dallas"

it's a bronzey chunky glitter that went on really nicely.
It's over top of A England - Lancelot

Island GIrl - "Tarzan"

Hey guys

Alright, so tonight I bring you the very last Island Girl polish named after a Magic Mike character.
Now while this definitely wasn't my favourite character, nor would I ever really want to see him strip, his characters name just fit so much better with the color of the polish than "Tito"

This one is named after Kevin Nash's character "Tarzan"

This is
Island Girl - "Tarzan"

Now more than being a neon green this is like "Crayola Box Grass Green" as Lindsay put it which is exactly how I felt as I wore it.

This dries as a satin/matte so this has a coat of Essie Good to Go over top.
