Nail Polish Canada's THE GREAT POLISH GIVEAWAY OF 2014

Hey guys,

So something a bit different today! I was contacted the other day by Nail Polish Canada which if you don't know is probably the best place to order mainstream and select indie brands. Honestly it was likely a catalyst to my obsessive polish hoarding.
Anyways they contacted me to see if I wanted to participate in THE GREAT POLISH GIVEAWAY OF 2014! (I hope you all ready that in a deep booming voice)

Anyways here is how it goes: (From NPC)
We’ve partnered with Cirque Colors, NCLA & Picture Polish to host the biggest giveaway ever.
One winner will take home up to 200 nail polish from over 10 different brands! The prize starts at zero, then bloggers can each pick a favourite shade to be added to the prize.
You can enter below. You can also enter once on each blog that adds a shade to the prize.
My selected shade was Picture Polish - Kryptonite
Scatter holo, emerald green and Superman. I really don't think I need to keep explaining myself.

The contest is open to US & Canada Enter Below

Bestie Twin Nails Challenge: Animal Print

Hey guys,

So this is the second last week of my team up with Melissa at Claw of Cthulhu. I'm going to miss doing these. I'm sure we will do something again in the future. Maybe we'll mix things up and do it different? Maybe try and create the same manicure? We shall see. Stay tuned for that.

This week was Animal Print! I love animal print, anyone who knows me knows I am OBSESSED with all things zebra print and have done several zebra print manicures. Heck for a while before I started my blog ALL I wore was zebra manicures. I've done tiger print and giraffe print. So I decided to try my hand at something new! Leopard Print! This was inspired by a manicure I saw on IG by @yagala so she gets all the credit for where I got this idea. Her nails are UNREAL.

piCture pOlish - Festival

Hey guys,

So today I took my puppy to the vet to get her nails clipped, which she HATES, going to the vet makes me just know how my parents felt when they took me to get my boosters as a kid. She's currently in the corner pouting with her beef chew treat she got as a reward... yup I still feel bad.

So I love Picture Polish, it is one of my fave indie brands, so when I found this in my box of goodies from Melissa for Christmas I was stoked. This is a multi coloured flakie, of course it was a jerk to photograph.
This is 2 coats over black.

Villains: Emma Frost

Hey guys,

So back when X-men 3 came out I remember going to see it with a group of friends from my Drama class, and we all dressed up, I went as the White Queen... a brunette version of Emma Frost but whatever. Anyways there in lies my personal connection with Miss Frost.

I wish I had had these nails when I dressed up that would have been awesome.
I used Picture Polish - Atomic  for the base.

Picture Polish - Shocked

Hey guys,

So it was freaking hot outside today so I decided to take Jill for a spin in our '79 Corvette. It was a blast. Way too freaking hot though. There is something to be said for windows up and air conditioning.

Today I have the last Picture Polish to show you. Initially I brushed this one off then I saw the swatches - questioned my sanity and went and ordered it.

This is a gorgeous pink jelly full of scattered holo glitter.
It is on the sheer side so this was 3 coats.

Picture Polish - Ocean

Hey guys,

Okay so I have calmed down about the whole True Blood thing (I'm still super bummed though) I basically keep telling myself that this is prep work for the coming season of SOA which I'm sure will be heart wrenching, remind me why I put myself through all of this again??

More Picture Polish today! Weeee! This is a aqua blue scatter holo in a jelly-ish base. You can see how it's a bit on the sheer side. In reality it probably could have used another coat on a few fingers or a base colour. This was 3 thin coats.

Picture Polish - Whimsy

Hey guys,

Okay so first I want to say WTF TRUE BLOOD?! I was finally really digging this season then they had to go EFF EVERYTHING UP. Sorry just watched the finale and are quite worked up. If you feel like I do please shoot me an e-mail (email is in the sidebar) and we can discuss (or if you're me scream and whine about the injustices of it all) without spoilers.

Okay deeeeep cleansing breath! Well I have a very pretty one for you today. This is a sky blue with a very pretty gold/white shimmer. Application on this was nice. This was a solid 2 coats.

Picture Polish - Hope

Hey guys,

I don't know about you guys but I always get super excited when I have some new Picture Polish shades to share with you. I don't know what it is about Picture Polish I love so much, maybe the fantastic application? Maybe the gorgeous colours? Probably all of the above.

Picture Polish just recently released a handful of new collaboration shades, I have yet to get the BRAND new ones, but I have some of the last round to show you.

First up is this gorgeous dark teal. All the pictures of this made me think it was a dark blue like Orbit. Nope it's a deep deep teal, with a beautiful scattered holo and some pieces of glitter in there too.

This is two coats, great smooth application.

piCture pOlish - Vampire, Paradise, Demeter

Hey guys,

Well it's the start of another week, hope you all had a great weekend. I did my best to stay as far away as possible from Etsy and NPC because I am on somewhat of a lax no-buy right now, as in I'm just going to try my best not to buy anything for a while. Of course it had to snow this weekend so I pretty much just hibernated and watched movies and played with my nail polish. Melissa scoffs at my untrieds pile which currently sits at 18 polishes which to me seems like a lot. I am trying to swatch and wear to hopefully help me from buying more polishes.
Anyways so today I have some piCture pOlishes for you guys (it absolutely drives me NUTS to type it like that, my OCD freaks out)

Crappy St. Patrick's Day Manicure

Hey guys,

So I'm actually surprised that I'm getting this up as today has been pretty busy. So if you ask me my last year's St. Patty's day manicure was better. See it here. Like a lot better. I initially wanted to keep things much more simple this year, maybe a french manicure with green tips, or dots or stripes or something nice and simple. Somewhere along the line I abandoned that for this monstrosity. Although on a happier note I did find my KCCO shirt this year and am wearing it right now.

For this I used

piCture pOlish - Mallard
Zoya - Apple
Zoya - Gia
OPI - Atomic Orange
Nails Inc. - Carnaby Street
China Glaze - Starboard
Island Girl - Aloha Girl
Cult Nails - Time Traveler
Rue Beaute - Trifecta

piCture pOlish Swatches

Hey guys,

So before we get into this I want to talk briefly about something that happened on Saturday night. I was at a fundraiser dinner with a couple of my friends and like a loser I was randomly checking my twitter when I saw that the makeup artist on the CW show "Beauty and the Beast" had seen my TV Inspired manicure and had retweeted it out to all her friends and followers. And she send me a reply saying that she loved it. Well needless to say I more or less freaked out. It was so exciting, especially since it wasn't necessarily my favourite one that I had done. Anyways that was my slight brush with blogger fame.

Today I have a whack of piCture pOlish swatches for you guys.

More after the jump.

TV Inspired: Smallville

Hey guys,

Today's TV manicure is: Smallville. Now anyone who knows me knows I am a huge Superman fan, and when Smallville debuted back in 2001 I watched it religiously. Then somewhere around season 6 I lost interest and got tired, not because I didn't still love the characters (okay Chloe drove me nuts) but because I am a terrible victim of mid-season lulls. Those mid-season breaks kill me and I have a tendancy to lose interest. However around season 9 I began watching again, and rewatched all the episodes back from the pilot and re-fell in love and finished the series out through the 10th and final season.

So this manicure showcases the earlier days of Smallville.
We have the Kryptonian symbol etched in the wall of the cave, the Smallville High colours, and of course Kryptonite.

For this I used
China Glaze - Stone Cold
NYX - Blood
Nails Inc - Carnaby Street
piCture pOlish - Kryptonite
Art Club - Yellow
Quo Instant Artist - Platinum Glitter
