Hey guys,

Woohoo happy Friday!

8 Days of Halloween - Day 8 - Vamp Gradient

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

So I hope everyone is having a Happy and SAFE Halloween!

I was totally panicking over this manicure, I couldn't figure out how I wanted to go with this. After some creative input from Chelsea this is what I came up with. These are my Vamp nails. Pretty much what I would do my nails like if I were a badass vampire.
I tried a crackle gradient and it turned out looking super cool.

For this I used

NYX - Blood
China Glaze - Black Mesh

Normally I would have colour corrected this photos a bit but the polish looks true-to-life and my skin looks eerily vampiric, (yes I am that pale) so it seemed fitting for halloween.

8 Days of Halloween - Day 2 - Black/Orange Crackle

Hey guys,

So for today's Halloween mani I have something just a bit more simple but still nice and festive.
I'm so in love with glow in the dark polishes right now and the glow under the crackle looks super cool.
The Cirque polish doesn't glow quite as bright as some of the other glow polishes I have but it's the perfect festive colour.

For this I used

Cirque - Kabocha
China Glaze - Black Mesh

Avalon Clapham Crackle

Hey guys,

So do I have any Whovian's out there?? Everyone super stoked for season 7? Okay one of my goals for this weekend is to finish up season 5 & 6 (yes I'm a bit behind)

Alright, now I know almost everyone in the blogosphere is super sick of Crackles/Shatters and all the sort. Okay I still totally dig them, no not all the time but sometimes it's just what you need to quickly and easily reboot a manicure. I always struggle with the Nails Inc crackles I own (Clapham & Islington) because as far as crackles go they're kind of bizarre colours that don't fit very well with a lot of different colours. So every once in a while I try to pull them out and see how things go. This one actually worked rather nicely. Not my favourite but not bad.

For this I used
A England - Avalon
Nails Inc. - Clapham Crackle Topcoat

Cotton Candy Manicure

Hey guys

So today marked the end of this weekends horse show. Kel & Timmi finished up with 8 Firsts, 1 Second, 1 Third, 1 Sixth & 1 Reserve.
Out of 12 Classes. Pretty damn good if you ask me.
It was like monsoon pouring all day but I pretty much spent the rest of the day napping so it's all good :)

So after I did these nails I was like holy crap these remind me of that cotton candy ice cream you can sometimes get. That was always my favourite as a kid (there's a little rarely known fact about yours truly)

This is
OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips
OPI Turquoise Shatter

Red & White Crackle

Hey guys,

So today was a weird day, this morning when I woke up every fiber in my being told me to call in sick and just stay in bed. Did I listen? Nope I did the right thing and hauled my ass out of my bed and went to work. No nothing horrendous happened today that made me tell myself that I should have trusted my gut. It was just bizarre.

Umm new obsession? Payphone by Maroon 5 obvs cause they are amazing.

So nails for you today is an extension of my CHI manicure the other day. I decided to slap a crackle on it and see what happened. All in all I like it.

This is

CHI - CHI You Under The Mistletoe
Sephora by OPI - White Blasted

Lioness Manicure

Hey ladies

So I'm sure I've told you by now about how I broke down last weekend and bought 2 new polishes during my polish buying freeze? No? Well last weekend I headed out to the mall with my mom & grandmother (which I knew was a bad idea) and lo and behold I wound up in Sephora standing in front of the Sephora by OPI stand drooling... okay well not actually drooling, they'd probably kick me out for that. Well I walked out of there with 2 polishes (which I like to think was very restrained of me considering how long it had been since I physically bought a polish)

One of the polishes I picked up was Neutral Beauty now I have nothing like this in my collection so it's pretty exciting.
plus it was the perfect polish to use as a base for the Sephora by OPI Blasted Opalescent Gold polish I had picked up about a month ago.

To me this manicure reminds me of the coat of a Lioness.... could be a bit of a stretch but everytime I glanced at it thats all I could think of.

Heres to a slip up that was worth it!!

OPI Turquoise Shatter

Hey guys,

so just a quick blurb today. Nothing too fancy.
Happy Friday, hopefully everyone has an awesome weekend planned whether it's chilling in sweats all weekend or big party plans.

I'm really trying to clear out old pics/swatches I have before posting the newer stuff I've done otherwise I'll wind up forgetting all about this stuff.

So I'm still in love with Shatters although depending on the colour/opacity sometimes it's hard to find a really good base colour, thats my only problem with them. if you ask me all shatters should be super pigmented.

Anyways heres OPI Turquoise Shatter.
and I believe the base colour is Essie Barbados Blue.

Blue & Pink Crackle

Okay so update on the UPDATES :)

Twitter is up and running, follow me at @Addicted2Lcqr
That being said I couldn't get the gadget that streams my latest tweets to work on the site. My browser kept telling me that he was blocking cross site scripting. So i figured if it wasnt working for me it probably wouldn't work very well for you guys and really who wants a stupid notification every time they visit me?

Exactly.

Okay so today I have some Nails Inc. crackle polishes, I got these 2 shortly after Christmas and have been trying to figure out the best base colour to use for these. well I got impatient.

I have Islington Crackle & Clapham Crackle
Along with OPI Not Like The Movies as a base colour.

I actually really love the colour blocking of the two pink nails side by side.

Champagne & Black Crackle

Story That I've Been Promising:
So a few nights ago I went out for dinner with Miss Jill, (Famoso, it was DELICIOUS and now I want Famoso. As of this moment I could live on their Quattro Formaggio pizza) then headed back to my place to watch movies (My Life In Ruins & Captain America incase you needed to know) So while I am painting my nails, Jill also decides to paint her nails.
First she pulls out about 5 polishes and decides she wants to do polka dots.
One swipe of a light pink polish and this is the conversation:

Jill: WTF this isn't pink!
Me: Not one coat of it, no.
Jill: Well forget this I'm not even going to finish.

So then she proceeds to remove the polish off of the two fingers she painted.
Then she glances over at my nails.

Jill: Oooh Pretty! Maybe I want Sparkles.
Me: Well this one is really sparkly.

I hand her CG Lorelei's Tiara. She proceeds to paint her entire hand. Then looks at it with disdain.

Jill: This is not working for me.
Me: Well it works better with a base colour.
Jill: You didn't tell me that!
Me: Sorry, I thought you knew.

So once again she proceeds to go through the painful process of removing glitter polish as I roll my eyes at her indecision (which all who know Jill know is pretty common).

Jill: maybe I just want naked nails.
Me: Okay. sounds good.

Then she glances over at my nails.

Jill: Thats really pretty howcome you didn't give me any ideas like that?
Me: Sorry?
Jill: I just want mellow nails.
Me: So do like a light purple with a matte top coat.
Jill: You can do that?
Me: *a look that says "you doubt me?"* yep.
Jill: Will you paint them for me?
Me: Yes

So I painted her nails. Within seconds she manages to put her thumb in the other thumb's wet polish.  So after I fix this then finish.

Jill: You missed a spot.

So that was the story of what happened while these nails came into existance.
Without further adeiu.

So I started with OPI Designer De Better from the Muppets collection.
It's a great champagne colour that at first I thought had flecks of pink in it but upon further inspection what I thought was pink is actually copper. So gorgeous.

After two coats of OPI DDB, 1 coat of China Glaze Black Mesh.
Seal with 1 coat of SV and you get the following.
