Nerdist Manicure

Hey guys,

So today's manicure may be a bit obscure for some of you guys but it's very near and dear to my heart. So The Nerdist is a website/podcast network/way of life. That has personally been a life saver for me. It all started last year when Dad got sick, I found it really hard to listen to music while I worked since well when things turn upside down it seems that every song you listen to was written to make you cry.
So I turned to something I had long meant to check out, The Nerdist Podcast. And well some days it was all that kept me going. Since then I've become a faithful listener. If you have a nerdy bone in your body I highly recommend it.

So this one is for them.

Dollish Polish - One Choice

Hey guys,

So I don't know about you guys but I had a busy Sunday in my pjs. Today I started linking the polishes in my Stash spreadsheet with their swatch post. Well of course this uncovered a bunch of polishes I always thought I had swatched but apparently never did (usually polishes I use in nail art, or just ones that got put on the back burner by accident) So I had a big OPI swatchathon, and I'm sure there will be more in the future.

Today's polish is inspired by Divergent, now I LOVED Divergent (the novel) like blew through it in a day loved it. I liked the movie even though I think Shailene Woodley is a nutball, but come on Theo James is a BABE. That being said I wasn't really a fan of the rest of the books. But anyways. I love me a white crelly.

Inspired by the 5 factions, this white crelly has the 5 colors to represent each faction, Abnegation, Candor, Erudite, Amity, and Dauntless.

This was 3 coats.

Dollish Polish - Can I Touch Your Mango

Hey guys,

So last night I went over to a friends house and we just stayed up talking way later than expected. So then I went home and proceeded to watch the latest episode of Outlander (OMG! Right?!) so of course it was around 3 am by the time I finally went to bed. Well needless to say this morning when I was SUPPOSED to wake up early, well that didn't happen. No regrets though.

Today I have the Mortal Instruments inspired glitter topper. I won't lie I can't remember this line for the life of me. That may be a sign I should probably read/watch it again. Maybe after I finish my massive book list.

Inspired by one of the best pick-up lines ever, Can I Touch Your Mango is sure to leave you craving a can of tomato soup. It's made up of a complete cornucopia of peach, mango, and coral glitters with a splash of green to make one mango-reffic glitterbomb topper!

While I don't exactly dislike this, I'm not a huge fan of this colour combination.

Supernatural Lacquer - Yellow Fever

Hey guys,

So I enjoy trips to our local fabric store. Fun fact I love to sew. I am so not patient enough to make clothing or anything but I've made stuffies and quilts and other random stuff. Well I've been contracted to make some eye patches for my coworker's son to help strengthen his weaker eye. I have no idea how it's going to turn out but I'm excited to try.

Today I have the last Supernatural Lacquer to show you guys. Another white crelly, this one a bit more sheer and yes you guessed it, I loved it. I know I sound like a broken record but I love all of this. The black circle glitter in this is perfect along with the neon yellow.
This was three coats.

Supernatural Lacquer - Turducken

Hey guys,

So earlier today I went and saw "When The Game Stands Tall" let me tell you if sports movies are anywhere in your movie wheel house go see it. And if you're thinking is there any eye candy let me just say two things: Alexander Ludwig & Work-out Montage. Trust me I almost swooned. Anyways it's fantastic but bring tissue.

Today I have another Supernatural Lacquer polish to show you. This is a total oddball, yet it love it.
This refers to a fantastic scene from Supernatural which if it doesn't make you laugh. I'm sorry we can't be friends anymore.
(credit)

It's a bizarre yet fun crelly full of yellow and black glitters in a nudey-grey gravy coloured base.
I dig it.
This is three coats.

OPI - Sheer Tints

Hey guys,

So today I was investigating the situation my horse had gotten himself into, he had helped himself into a tiny pen by just walking under the top rail on a tall fence where the bottom rail had broken. When I walked past the straw pile I heard a noise and looked to my left and sure enough a garter snake was frantically sliding into the pile. Yup, I screamed. Actually it was more of a high pitched "EUWWWWW". Don't get me wrong I really like snakes. I have even thought of getting a pet snake, but I don't like it when they catch me off guard.

Today I have the OPI Sheer tints to show you. Each of these had the same application so I'm just going to talk about it up here. I swatched them all over white, since I've seen swatches over bare nails and gross, just gross. I did 1 to 4 coats starting at the pinky. Then I did a gradient on the thumb. Each of these had a thick tacky consistency, kind of a pain in the butt to use but I was happy overall with the results. The only one I wasn't really a fan of colour wise was I'm Never Amberassed.

Watercolor Manicure

Hey guys,

So I am admittedly not a cat person, BUT there have been cats through the years that I am particularily fond of. Usually awesome barn cats. The reason I bring this up because I finally know what it is like to try and blog while also being molested for attention by a cat. I am barn sitting for the night and so far Gandalf, has climbed all over my laptop, all over me, and is finally giving me dirty looks from the otherside of the couch. I PROMISE I WILL SNUGGLE AS SOON AS I POST THIS. Anyways, cat parents. I feel your pain now of trying to blog with a cat.

Okay so lets talk sheer tints. I will post all these individually later but I wanted to post this one first cause it's so pretty. I used all 4 OPI Sheer tints here. And basically just swiped them all on over white.  This was super simple to do although the Sheer Tints themselves are a bit of a pain.

Julep - Catrina

Hey guys,

So I had a busy day working on various projects, like trying to create gift certificates and an ad. Geez does anyone have print ad making skills? I stink at this kind of stuff, if there isn't a template I'm completely hooped.

So this is a bright canary creme polish. I don't have much to say about this since it's generally not the kind of colour I would reach for as it usually makes me look jaundiced and awful however this shade isn't too bad. This showed up in a mystery box. Nice application though, this was 3 coats.

Dollish Polish - Get Your Sprinkle On

Hey guys,

So I had an insanely productive yet MELLOW day. It was awesome, totally what I needed. I swatched this month's Julep box, finished making the dragon egg I have been working on all week, edited a bunch of pictures, finished staining the two signs I've been working on, baked cupcakes, filmed a video, AND watched a crap load of tv I have been procrastinating on. Oh and I watched a few episodes of Brotherly Love which was easily one of my favourite shows in the 90's, seriously you gotta love the Lawrence brothers. Actually I was so busy I almost forgot to blog. Whoops.

This was a polish from Dollish Polish's Ice Cream Collection. I actually really liked this collection, it was bright and fun and was perfectly fitting of the ice cream theme. I only wound up ordering one from this collection but I chose a yellow crelly full of bright rainbow glitters. Good even application. This was three coats.

OPI - You're So Flippy Floppy

Hey guys,

So on a totally non blog related note, Yesterday my best friend and I decided to do the "Baby Food Challenge" and film it and then of course upload it to the internet for the world to see. So if you feel like watching me choke down some baby food click here! The plan is to start making product review videos and putting them on youtube. Who knows if this will last but heck why not right?

Today I have my least favourite of the Brazil liquid sand polishes to show you, honestly the only reason this was my least favourite was because of the colour, I know some of you with a darker skintone can probably ROCK this canary yellow but it just makes me look jaundiced. Although I do have it on my toes right now and it works much better as a toenail polish. Like Brazil Nuts this one was a bit more sheer, this is three coats.

Supernatural Lacquer - Yellow Eyed Demon

Hey guys,

So today I started listening to the audiobook for Helter Skelter at work today, it's the story of the Manson Murders. It is ridiculously creepy but totally fascinating. I love true crime books but they have to be audiobooks and I have to listen to them at work or I get scared. I'm such a wimp.

Oh and I totally stepped on a piece of glass today first thing in the morning. Not fun, hope no one notices the blood on the carpet. Whoops.

I have another of the Supernatural polishes to show you today! I have been looking forward to this polish for a while now. It's a neon yellow with black glitter. Based on the character of Azazel who at the beginning is known as the yellow eyed demon. It wasn't long after I ordered it when I got a message from Stefanie from Supernatural Lacquer (she is the sweetest!) saying that she noticed that despite passing several time and wear tests and being solvent resistant, some of the black glitter was now silver. So my bottle of YED was a bit blingy. She offered to replace it with another colour if I didn't want it. I wanted this so bad I decided it didn't matter, then we both agreed that Azazel was a bit sassy and would probably enjoy the bling.
This may pop a bit more over a white base coat but I like it this way. This is three coats with topcoat (it dries matte)
