Bestie Twin Nails Challenge: Water Marble

Hey guys,

Oh the dreaded Water marble. I SUCK at watermarbling. No matter how many tutorial videos or step by step Mucking Fusser tutorials I look at I just can't get the hang of it. Bubbles everywhere. That being said this isn't the worst one I have ever done. Water marbles involve the worst most annoying clean up. I seem to always get frustrated with the tape and just wind up vaseline coating my fingers. I give major props to people who can just water marble like it's second nature. Granted if I were to do it more often than once a year maybe I would be a lot better at it. Like the meme says though "ain't nobody got time for that"

Black & White Watermarble

Hey guys,

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Well you fellow Canadians anyways.
So last night I got to see Nicole, and for those of you who read my blog semi regularly you'll know that when Nicole comes to town often new nail polish follows her. She gave me a couple fun ones. A UV colour changing polish and a glow in the dark polish. October is so the month for glowing polishes! I'll hopefully have those up here soon.

Today I have hands down the best water marble I've done to date. Still not perfect but its come a LONG way from my first terrible one I did.

Hey guys,

So today I spent most of my time sitting in rather uncomfortable positions getting my tattoo worked on. While anyone who knows me, knows that I'm never one to complain about getting tattoos let me be the first to admit: getting your Achilles tendon/hamstring tattooed flipping SUCKS it took everything I had not to be twitching all over the place. Scott was all "your ankle bone/foot will probably be the worst" LIES the anklebone and foot were cake. Anyways I needed to get that off my chest.

I'm super surprised I haven't posted this yet it's just floating around in my Drafts. So I have for you another sub-par watermarble. I really figure the only way to get better at these is to just keep practicing though. So ONWARD AND UPWARD. sorry caps lock was probably a tad unnecessary.

haha so it's getting to the point I don't even know why I bother trying to watermarble. Seriously it just always turns out bad and everytime I see a picture of an amazing marble I curse the gods and wonder how some people are SO good!! 

But I'm not above showing you guys my awful nail fails. This was supposed to be my Canada Day manicure but then it turned out horribly and that was scrapped. Obviously not before I could take pictures and show you guys

Hunger Games Watermarble

Hey Guys!

So good news! I made it through the day headache free, which considering I went home yesterday to sit in the dark around 11 is a good thing.

Now can I say HOLY CRAP is it snowing outside. wow apparently mother nature missed the "It's Spring" memo.

Umm in other exciting news: My good friend Cindy got engaged this week!! Yep I'm a little late on announcing that but she'll forgive me.

Also my cousin Alex got engaged yesterday soooo engagements all around!

So stoked. I love weddings.

It was Tracy's last day today so I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do without her. She also managed to talk me into trying a piece of "Thrills" gum today. BLECH worst idea ever! Seriously who wants to eat something that tastes like soap??? So weird.

Other than that my tattoo consult is tomorrow! It had better stop snowing by the time I have to go downtown. I hate going downtown nevermind when the roads are total crap. Fingers crossed.

Anyways NAILS.

So today I have my second watermarble to show you guys.

Its really not that good (maybe better than the last one but still not super good.) I really just need to practice this more. Since I love you guys though I`ll still show you.

My First Water Marble

Okay so I've been wanting to try a water marble for a long time. Ever since I saw the technique in a Teen People Magazine like 10 years ago. So today when Nail Polish Canada posted a link to Colores de Carol's Nicki Minaj water marble manicure.

I had to try it considering that I had recieved these coloirs in the mail on friday.

So disclaimer: This is my first water marble, I really had no clue what I was doing, it took me a while to hit my stride. I did my best to clean things up but will try to post updated pics tomorrow after I absent mindedly clean the polish of my skin at work tomorrow. (Thats pretty much just the way it works)

All in all I think it turned out pretty neat for my first try.

This was my first hand that I did, I'm also aware my fingers are green.

This was the second hand... it's probably the best minus my middle finger. Water bubble. Thats all I'm saying about that sucker.

Not too bad all in all.... next time at least I'll have an idea what I'm doing. I'll also be TAPING off my fingers. :)
