Merida Manicure

Here we are at the end of our princess nails. Now today's princess is a bit different she's the first Pixar Princess from the movie "Brave" coming out this year. She's scottish so I decided it was time to try my hand at tartan nails. Please note absolutely no research went into this, I know how imporant a family's tartan is to them.

Anyways I used OPI Dating A Royal as a base

Then China Glaze Starboard as an accent. (Along with Orly Instant Artist in Leafy Green & Crisp White)

I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out!

I can't wait to see Brave when it comes out!!

Tiana Manicure

So apparently I thought I had already posted these nails but was wrong. I initially had a different post planned but that'll have to wait until Wednesday.
So when it came to doing Princess Tiana nails I drew a huge blank... do I do with green because of the frog thing? Do I do brown and green (that seemed a tad racist to me so I immediately put the kibosh on that)? After staring at the blu-ray box cover for like 10 minutes I finally decided on Mardi Gras colours. It's a bit different but still fun.

I started with Nicole Prized Possession Purple
Then used my Art Club Neon Yellow and Neon Green as striping accent colours.

Tomorrow we have our 11th and final Princess just in time to wrap up January!

GOSH - Metallic Purple

For some reason when I picked this polish up the name "Metallic Purple" didn't tip me off to the fact it's a foil. Not that I have anything against it. it's very pretty except for the fact that I have almost every single colour of foil from wayyy back. It's very pretty so I'll probably still use it. I just feel like a dolt not putting two and two together.
GOSH - Metallic Purple.

Sorry kind of lame as far as posts go. I think next time I'll need to put a thicker basecoat on to even things out.

GOSH - Black Passion

I was out shopping the other day and decided to splurge on some polishes I had been wanting for a while. This story in a nut shell is why I prefer to feed my polish habit by buying online.
So as I deposited my polishes on the counter (note this was at a Salon not a drugstore or anything like that) and I had 3 reds in my haul. (OPI Big Apple Red, I'm Not Really A Waitress, Wocka Wocka!) and the guy asked me if I wanted to try them out to see which one I wanted and when I said I wanted them all he gave me that look that just screams "Are you a whack job? They're all red." Just shut up and take my money Bud! Grr.
Anyways thank you all my fellow Polish-a-holics that understand my love of reds and agree that HELLLOOOOO They're all different!

Anyways on with the show, here is a beauty I picked up a few weeks ago spur of the moment.
GOSH - Black Passion.

It's delightful. I love black. I pretty much spent my teen years wearing nothing but black on my nails. What can I say I was a teenage stereotype.
This is unlike any black I've ever owned while I'm sure it's not the only black shimmer out there. It's the first I've tried and I LOOOOOOVE it.

I also decided it's beautiful as a matte-suedey colour <3

Mulan Manicure

As I begin wrapping up my month of Disney Princess nails, there were a few Princesses I really struggled with conceptually. Mulan being one of them, I love Mulan. I love Mushu, Khan and Cri-Kee. In the end I decided to go with a Cherry Blossom colour themed manicure.

The moment I started I was prepping myself to HATE this. I don't even know why, I think it was the base colour, but when it came out I LOOOOVED it.

I started with OPI Step Right Up.
After like 3 million coats (okay 4 but thats a LOT) I was satisfied with the colour... then discovered I had grabbed the wrong insanely pale pink (whoops) too late now though.
Then OPI Pink Friday on the tips of all 5 nails.
and a stripe of OPI Sparrow Me The Drama down one side of the thumb.

No thumb shot because... as you can see in the middle picture somehow as I was sealing my nails a tiny fiber became encased in the lacquer like a mosquito in amber. I didn't notice until I went upstairs and saw it under the bright lights of the bathroom. Theres also some super sweet bubbles in the thumbnail too. Yay haha oh whatever :)

OPI Pretty & Privileged - RIP Polish

Before I get down to business I would like to say that I am almost a week into my Friends marathon. I am well into season three. I only have up to season four, I've already ordered the other 6 seasons BUT they're not set to arrive until Feb 8th at the earliest... I have no clue what I'm going to do!
Okay thats out of my system.
Continuing on...

Today we are here to say goodbye to my favourite polish.
OPI Pretty & Privileged
From the 2009 90210 Collection.
For the record I've only seen the first 2 seasons of the new 90210. The old Beverly Hills 90210 however is the best. Give me Dylan, Brandon, Steve & David over the new 90210 guys any day. Okay thats totally me getting away from the point and getting distracted by guys.

Theres still a tiny bit left in this bottle but I doubt I'll get any more blog worthy manicures out of it seeing how goopy it's getting and seems to now be immune to being thinned out anymore. It will be strictly relegated to toes from here on out.

I'm not sure what happened to my thumb but there really wasn't much fixing it, but you get the point.

Okay so I compared this side by side to the two closest reds I have.
P&P is in the middle.
The left is OPI Wocka Wocka!
The right is OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress
P&P is slightly more pinky/orange than INRAW which was the closer of the two.

Cinderella Manicure

I hadn't initially planned on posting this today I was going to wait until tomorrow and just do the RIP Polish post today I was planning. However it's been a long and emotional rollercoaster of a day, so instead of a post that was probably going to depress me I decided on posting my latest Princess nails instead.

Today we have Cinderella, a blue sponge on gradient manicure.

I started with Essie Coat Azure.

Then sponged on Essie Barbados Blue

I love how this came out. Classy, pretty and princessy.

I'll probably post the RIP post tomorrow... or it may be on the weekend only time will tell.

Pocahontas Manicure

For some reason it feels like I haven't blogged in forever... when in reality it was yesterday. I also woke up thinking it was Thursday so apparently my inner clock is seriously out of whack.

So theres one more week of Princess nails for you all and about ... 4? 5? (I dunno something like that) princesses still to go. Can you name them?
Today's Disney Princess is Pocahontas. I had a Disney marathon about a month ago and watched Pocahontas. I forgot how much I loved that movie, I remember when it came out I had the Thermos and Lunch kit. Yep I was THAT cool kid. Don't be jealous.
Obviously Pocahontas won't be over the top, I thought about trying to do the colourful leaves on my ring finger, but decided against it.

I started with OPI - My Private Jet
not the awesome Charcoal Holo, the more charcoal-brown shimmer. That's the one I have.

Then added a stripe of OPI-Warm & Fozzie down the center of the nails.

It's kind of hard to see in the pictures (It was kind of hard to see IRL but looked really pretty) so there are a few more pics than normal.

Chelsea wanted to see it with a matte topcoat. I personally wasn't a fan of the way it looked over MPJ but it really shows the the stripe.

Tomorrow I have my first RIP Polish Post :( so stay tuned for that.

GOSH - Golden Dragon

I've just watched an excessive amount of FRIENDS as I write this (I'm almost done Season 1 and I just started today after work)... and this is going to gross Jill out but I love Ross, yes he's a schmuck, and a geek and a dweeb but I find him ridiculously endearing and charming. Judge me if you like, I'm cool with it. I also sort of feel like the theme song could be the theme song to my life right now.... if I was singing it to myself?? Whatever.

Today I have GOSH - Golden Dragon for you. A Green/Gold Duochrome.
I obviously bought it for it's name. Hi my name is Caitlin and I like dragons.

Super pretty. Love it!
