August Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

Today I have my August maven box to show you guys, I really liked the colours in this months box, not enough to get the whole collection (although I think I thought about it)
Not even one day into swatching and wearing these polishes I had a mishap that caused my ring fingernail to break right off, I didn't even notice it happen until I was like wait something is WRONG.
So just incase you're wondering that's what happened.

OPI Mega Post Second Edition

So a while back I did an OPI mega post full of random swatches well  I had a bunch of random old unswatched polishes piling up so here is my second OPI mega post I'm going to keep it super simple here and just list number of coats/

OPI - Sheer Tints

Hey guys,

So today I was investigating the situation my horse had gotten himself into, he had helped himself into a tiny pen by just walking under the top rail on a tall fence where the bottom rail had broken. When I walked past the straw pile I heard a noise and looked to my left and sure enough a garter snake was frantically sliding into the pile. Yup, I screamed. Actually it was more of a high pitched "EUWWWWW". Don't get me wrong I really like snakes. I have even thought of getting a pet snake, but I don't like it when they catch me off guard.

Today I have the OPI Sheer tints to show you. Each of these had the same application so I'm just going to talk about it up here. I swatched them all over white, since I've seen swatches over bare nails and gross, just gross. I did 1 to 4 coats starting at the pinky. Then I did a gradient on the thumb. Each of these had a thick tacky consistency, kind of a pain in the butt to use but I was happy overall with the results. The only one I wasn't really a fan of colour wise was I'm Never Amberassed.

Watercolor Manicure

Hey guys,

So I am admittedly not a cat person, BUT there have been cats through the years that I am particularily fond of. Usually awesome barn cats. The reason I bring this up because I finally know what it is like to try and blog while also being molested for attention by a cat. I am barn sitting for the night and so far Gandalf, has climbed all over my laptop, all over me, and is finally giving me dirty looks from the otherside of the couch. I PROMISE I WILL SNUGGLE AS SOON AS I POST THIS. Anyways, cat parents. I feel your pain now of trying to blog with a cat.

Okay so lets talk sheer tints. I will post all these individually later but I wanted to post this one first cause it's so pretty. I used all 4 OPI Sheer tints here. And basically just swiped them all on over white.  This was super simple to do although the Sheer Tints themselves are a bit of a pain.

Deborah Lippmann - Forsaken: Bad Things Set

Hey guys,

So I hope that everyone had as great of a weekend as I did, like I mentioned yesterday I spent a vast majority hanging out with the Lawrence brothers, and obviously by that I meant I spent my weekend watching Brotherly Love & Melissa and Joey. It was fantastic... if you don't know who the Lawrence brothers are (yes I am looking at you best friend Nicole) please click here or here, have your memory jogged.

Tonight, True Blood. The last season. It's happening, and today I have the second Deborah Lippmann True Blood set to show you. This one included 3 minis. I had the same problem with this set as I did with the last set, while I think the black cherry sheer polish is fitting, what is up with the pink? Why? How is there no bright red?

April Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

So I was super stoked when the reveal for the April box was released. The box was chock full of bright vivid colours, which I love. There was actually a lot of fantastic unique (to me anyways) colours in this box, so after a short battle with the rational half of my brain the compulsive half decided this month was an upgrade month. The colour descriptions are a bit interesting but that is neither here nor there. Oh man was I happy I went for the upgrade, click for more after the jump.

Okay so for some reason blogger is being really slow and bizarre while I type so if something seems a bit off please forgive me.

A couple days ago I finally managed to get together with my best friend Nicole after what seemed like months of not seeing her (in reality it was probably more like a month.) anyways she brought me a mittful of goodies! So I can't wait til I get around to showing you guys but seeing how I'm a tad backed up right now it's hard to say when that will be.

OPI So Many Clowns So Little Time

Hey guys,

So this is going to be short and sweet because I just finished a buttload of tack cleaning. Horse show this weekend and of course I realized that I have nothing done, so I panicked.

Moving on, this is a colour I kept meaning to swatch forever.
It's a sheer and we all know I'm not a huge fan of Sheers but they could grow on me.

I can never decide what colour this is exactly... kind of pink, kind of peach, kind of white.
If I was more into classic french manis this would probably appeal more to me.

OPI In The Spotlight Pink

Hey guys,

So yesterday when I was doing my nails this colour all I could say to myself was:

"I hate sheer colours, no more sheer colours for me! Nope."

Then today what did I find myself lusting after? Yup you guessed it OPI's new sheer line New York Ballet.

I'm loving the sheer white & the sheer beige. Oh and the glitter top coat obvs

Yeah clearly I'm a whack job. 

Let me tell you why I don't really like sheer polishes.

1. They don't really fit my style or personality, I'm more of a bolder pigment girl. Although every once in a while I'm cool with mixing it up with a sheer, you know to keep people on their toes and all.

2. My nails sometimes can be a little peely so when I wear darker colours they get under the peely part sometimes and aside from buffing the peelies off which I don't like to do because it generally makes my nails weaker there isn't much I can do about it other than just cover it up. Which obviously doesn't exactly work with a sheer.
