Deborah Lippmann - Across the Universe

Hey guys,

Okay so it just occurred to me that spring collections have started coming out. Which means spring is almost here which means summer is just around the corner! Okay maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. Anyways I'm over winter.

So today I have a squashed lemming for you guys. This was a present from my NPBFF Melissa. I have wanted this for so long yet always managed to talk myself out of it. So here it is. I am so in love with this dark blue jelly glitter. This was two coats.

Deborah Lippmann - 99 Luftballoons

Hey guys,

So a few things first. Merry Christmas to everyone. Or whatever else you're celebrating. I realize I have been majorly slacking on any sort of Christmas nail art but I brought my polish collection to my bestie's house for when I move in and then I pushed my move back a little so I am limited to the polish I have laying around the house. So I apologize
Second: Bowling is the devil. Seriously I broke 3 nails (cinderella hand thank goodness) within the first 20 minutes. I won't lie it kind of ruined the rest of the game for me. This can't be a problem only I have right?

Today I have a fun polish to show you guys and if you can walk away without having the song stuck in your head you are a greater man than me. If you have no clue what I'm talking about click here.
Well this was actually a Sephora Beauty Insider gift. I tend to hoard my points I have no clue why but I do, anyways this was totally worth 100 points (it's a DL Mini) This is a red jelly version of Candy Shop or Forget You.
This was three coats.

Deborah Lippmann - Forsaken: Bad Things Set

Hey guys,

So I hope that everyone had as great of a weekend as I did, like I mentioned yesterday I spent a vast majority hanging out with the Lawrence brothers, and obviously by that I meant I spent my weekend watching Brotherly Love & Melissa and Joey. It was fantastic... if you don't know who the Lawrence brothers are (yes I am looking at you best friend Nicole) please click here or here, have your memory jogged.

Tonight, True Blood. The last season. It's happening, and today I have the second Deborah Lippmann True Blood set to show you. This one included 3 minis. I had the same problem with this set as I did with the last set, while I think the black cherry sheer polish is fitting, what is up with the pink? Why? How is there no bright red?

Deborah Lippmann - Forsaken: Sookie Sookie Set

Hey guys,

So a few months ago I found two Deborah Lippmann sets I had been lusting over for months. I've said it before, but I am a total sucker for anything tying into anything I fangirl over. So while the polishes within these sets may have not screamed my name, the fact that they are True Blood Deborah Lippmann's was enough to make these a must have. And I found them at Winners so DOUBLE BONUS. Actually if I was a good friend I would have also grabbed them for Melissa but alas, I suck.

If you are a True Blood fan then you'll know that the season premiere of the FINAL season starts on Sunday, out with Game of Thrones and in with True Blood. Oh HBO you really know how to not overwhelm my schedule. I dig it. I'm still really sore over Warlow's departure. If you haven't seen last season and that is a spoiler for you, the statute of limitations on spoilers for last season is up so deal with it.
Anyways here is the first of two sets!.

Deborah Lippmann - Stronger

Hey guys,

So I think I finally worked out my horse show schedule this summer, and between shows and cousin's weddings I am going to be ridiculously poor for the year. I'm sure it will be buttloads of fun and definitely worth it but it also means I can look forward to buying VERY little polish and not being to spontaneous with anything. Yay.

So I bought this on New Years eve as a present to myself. This is JUST SO SPARKLY. Like a dumb dumb I insisted on trying to build this up. It needed a base colour. But it is so pretty! There is so much sparkle to the holographic glitter. I just wish the blue jelly base was a bit more opaque.
This was 4 coats.

Deborah Lippman - Wicked Set

Hey guys,

So when NPC stopped carrying Deborah Lippmann I was fairly certain that was going to be the end of any DL polishes I was ever going to own. Well apparently I was wrong, a while back I believe Sephora was having a sale... I think? or maybe I was just biting the bullet and grabbing some lemmings (umm hello Illamasqua Phallic) actually yeah I was probably just going a bit nuts and Wicked is one of my fave musicals, I have wonderful memories of going to see it in London with my best friend. (My mind has conveniently chosen to forget how bad my feet were killing me that day after trekking around in brand new heels, although Nicole being the wonderful person she is swapped shoes with me for the walk home)

Anyways so this set was calling my name. As does the TrueBlood sets, but those are harder to come by.

Deborah Lippmann - Ruby Red Slippers

Hey guys,

So for some reason this beauty got buried in my drafts, so for that I apologize.
Also I think I'm getting sick and I have been the grumpiest person ALL week. I need to be put out of my misery.

So this is a red glitter polish in a black tinted base. The base is a bit sheer but it does build up relatively easy. It's easy enough to layer over black though if you don't want a slightly layered look.

This is 3 coats.

Deborah Lippman Snow White & The Huntsman Set

Hey guys,

So this was a set that I was contemplating for a LONG time, I talked myself out of it more than a few times, yet for some reason I always came back to it, even though there was nothing special about either of the polishes. I have similar polishes to both, yet for some reason as soon as you slap a theme or a movie endorsement on something I WANT IT. I'm so terrible.

So when NPC started putting their DL on sale I figured well now is the time to grab it.

Deborah Lippmann - Forget You

Hey guys,

Alright are you singing it? I see you driving, 'round town with the girl I love, and I'm like...
I love polishes named after songs, it would make me happier if this wasn't named after the clean version of the song but I can see where that would be unfeasible.

Initially this mish mash of random glitter didn't really do anything for me but the more I looked at it the more I decided I liked it. Your best bet is to layer it over a base of black. Did I do that? Of COURSE not, I decided I needed to do this the hard way, The black base is a bit sheer but with the abundance of glitter this builds up quickly. This was three coats but if you apply it a bit thicker you could probably get away with two.

Deborah Lippmann - Ray of Light

Hey guys,

So a couple weeks ago you guys got to see my post of Deborah Lippmann's Sweet Dreams. Thats assuming that you check in regularly, and if you don't well thats fine too. I believe this one and Sweet Dreams came out in the same collection. Someone who has tons of followers would probably go double check on that right now, but unless every single person reading this right now decides to follow me with GFC or bloglovin' I'm just going to continue to be lazy right now.

This was super gorgeous. I loved it. In hindsight it needed another coat. It looked fine in person but under the light my camera was appy to point out the spots that were a bit bald. I had no real problems with application this was 3 coats (I'm fairly certain) and if you go with thick(er) coats you should be fine at 3. As everyone can see my ring finger needed 4

Deborah Lippmann - Sweet Dreams

Hey Guys,

So a few weeks ago NPC announced that they would no longer be carrying Deborah Lippmann due to their distributor no longer carrying it so as a result almost ALL of their stock of DL polishes went on sale. Initially I didn't really read the e-mail and decided to pass seeing as I was on a low-buy and I always figured DL polishes were more hype then anything. Well once Miss Melissa alerted me to the fact that this would likely be my last chance to get my hands on them obviously I caved and bought WAY too many.

Here is the first of my moment of weakness. This was three coats of this bright pink flakie. I had no problems with application or removal.

Deborah Lippmann - Mermaid's Dream

Hey guys,

So yesterday I had a nice long winded post about my feelings on Deborah Lippman. This post won't be that long I promise. This was the second polish I purchased. It was very pretty but of course didn't want to photograph at all so bear with me. It was also a major top coat eater. I don't mind gritty glitter polishes though.

I'm still not convinced that it's worth the money BUT if I got a chance to buy the True Blood DL's I probably would because I'm a sucker for TV Tie-In Products.

Deborah Lippmann - Modern Love

Hey guys,

So I just recently dipped my toes in the Deborah Lippmann pond for the first time. I seem to recall going on a rant a few months ago about I though Deborah Lippmann polishes were nice but not worth the hefty price tag or something like that. So when Nail Polish Canada recently had a 30% off of all DL stock for a limited time (like 4 days or something like that) I figured that it was the best time to see if they were really worth the extra dollars. I've wanted the True Blood DL's since I heard about them but for some reason NPC doesn't have them. So instead I picked up Mermaid's Dream & Modern Love. I had wanted Across the Universe but it was out of stock.

This is normally not a colour I would pick up, but Modern Love is the title of one of my favourite albums of all time (Matt Nathanson) so it was a good second choice. This was a colour that when I had it on my mom pretty much started drooling over to which my response was "Really?" It's a bit boring for me but as a base or as part as a funkier manicure it has potential.

I don't think I would have bought it had it not been on sale though.
