Digital Nails - Chillin' Like A Villain

So about a month ago my NPBFF Melissa let me know that Raphaelle from Digital Nails had a "promotion" I guess you could call it maybe? Where if you donated $35+ to an Alzheimer's fundraiser she was participating in (a good cause) she would make a custom bottle of nail polish for you. So I was IN obviously.

Trying to think of what kind of polish I wanted didn't take too long, my friends have often described me as a Disney villain, and it wasn't long before I started indentifying with the villains instead of the Princesses. So while I still love the Princesses, they get a lot of love, there are several Disney Princess inspired collections out there, but very few inspired by villains. So I was talking to Melissa and she jokingly said "Chillin' Like A Villain" and I was SOLD. So I gave Raph the name and free rein to do WHATEVER she wanted.

Well a couple weeks later this baby arrived. It's a teal/purple duochrome chock full of copper micro glitter and holo glitter. Raph said she had a blast bottling pure evil, and I love it, my camera refused to capture the beauty of pure evil but here it is in it's two coat glory!

So things have been crazy for me for the past couple days, yesterday I ordered business cards, and all sorts of goodies for my side project of making pyrography stall signs. Today I have a burnt orange/coppery frost polish. This would actually be a great fall polish. Ahh fall, it was so hot and humid outside today (it is NEVER humid here unless it's raining) it was like being inside someone's mouth. So it's humid days like these I get excited about fall. This was a frost so application was a pain because of brush strokes. This was 2 coats.

June Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

So I really didn't want this to happen, I told myself I would be good. Then it happened. I upgraded my Julep box AGAIN. This month Julep introduced their new My Maven program. All existing Mavens would have the choice to continue with their current subscription program which is you choose which box you want then you can have up to three add-ons. Or upgrade to "My Maven" and pay $25 a month and be able to customize their box, which I actually like because you can swap out a polish you don't want for one you do want. Or you can upgrade to the Maven Luxe box and pay $40 a month and get to choose more products in your box. I upgraded to the My Maven, but after looking at this month's collection I splurged. I blame the fact that this month's collection is whimsical. It's very A Midsummer's Night Dream.

Dollish Polish - Penny... Penny... Penny...

Hey guys,

So tomorrow I'm gearing up for one of the busiest/most stressful work days of the year for me, the Beer Draw, I have done my best to get my act together so I am ready to go first thing tomorrow morning, but we have 288 six packs of beer to be won. Busy, busy day. Wish me luck.

This has been a big lemming of mine since it was released. It was always sold out every time I went to put in an order though, alas it is finally mine! Anyone who has watched The Big Bang Theory with any sort of regularity will get the reference for this polish, plus it is copper glitter in a milky copper base. Perfect for a polish called Penny. Nice application too, this was three coats.

Julep - Adele

Hey guys,

So when the Olympics ended my cubicle mate was all "Well at least you still have the Paralympics to look forward to" What a smart cookie, In all honesty I hadn't even thought of watching the Paralympics. Now that being said there is much less coverage of the Paralympics than there is of the Olympics.
That being said I am hooked. It is incredibly inspiring to see these athletes get to compete. I've already teared up several times, and Canada is KILLING it in Sledge Hockey right now.

You can probably expect to see a Paralympics inspired mani soon. haha

I don't think I'm alone when just thinking of the name Adele makes me want to belt out a horribly off tune rendition of an Adele song. Am I right?

February Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

So I have to confess, I may have upgraded my Julep Maven box again this month. Well that makes it sound like I do it all the time and that isn't the truth. I really love though now how you have the option to upgrade and get only the polishes, so if you don't want the product you can just get all the polish for a bit cheaper.

You'll notice that my thumb nail is wonky and short in most of the pictures. Yep that was the decimation of my thumb nail.

OPI Metallics

Hey guys! 

So some exciting news today!

1st. OPI announced their Amazing Spiderman collection. I've already decided that there are at least 2 colours that I need even though the one of them is probably something like GOSH's Golden Dragon. We'll see.

2nd. I got my birthday present from my bestie Nicole today after many near misses, It was EPIC, more on that later.

3rd. Today Operation: Demolish Bingo Wings began. Chelsea will be like "You don't have bingo wings" and she's right they aren't flappy yet but give 'em a few years so we're nipping that in the bud starting today. Let me tell you it SUCKS! but what won't suck will be the results. 

Now I know how my students always felt when I gave them "If it doesn't hurt you probably aren't doing it right" speech.
