Dollish Polish - Cold Winds Are Rising

Hey guys
EEEEEK excitement!!!! Game of Thrones season 3 begins tonight! I have been waiting for this from the very moment I finished season 2. Of course I know that season 3 will be done in the blink of an eye and then the treacherous wait begins again. I can't wait to see more of The Hound! Gah! Sorry I'm totally spiraling out of control here
So one of the things I love so much about Dollish Polish are the themed polishes so the moment I saw Cold Winds Are Rising and saw that it was in stock it was a no brainer. This had to be ordered right that moment because as anyone who has ordered from Dolly knows that blink and the polish you want is gone.

It is teal glitter in a grey base. This is two coats.

Dollish Polish - It's Bigger On The Inside

Hey guys,

So tonight is the spring premiere of Doctor Who! I know we've all been waiting since Christmas Day to find out what is next in store for our sad mopey Pond-less (my heart is breaking into a zillion pieces) Doctor. So it seemed only appropriate to finally post these swatches.

This is
Dollish Polish - It's Bigger on The Inside
Anyone who follows me on IG has probably seen my abundance of TARDIS's (...TARDISae? whatever) That I like to surround myself with at work. This is two coats. It's a gorgeous night-sky blue that is just jam packed full of shimmer. It totally reminds me of the night sky. There is so much depth and sparkle

Illamasqua - Scarce

Hey guys,

So this year this is about as easter-y as I'm going to get so enjoy. This was a polish I grabbed on my binge buy a couple weeks ago. I almost didn't grab this one but in the end I'm so glad I did it's awesome.
Like my other Illamasqua polishes this applied beautifully in 2 coats. It's a pale pink creme with black glitter buried. It looks just like speckled eggs, It's even better when you add a matte top coat. While $18 is pretty steep for a polish, I find this brand to be totally worth it, which is not my usual reaction to pricey polishes.

Nails Inc - Sweets Way

Hey guys,

So I have another Nails Inc. polish for you guys today. The Nails Inc sprinkles collection are polishes I have been pondering for a long time now. Well I finally grabbed one, and of course grabbing one made me want more, but we shall see what the future holds on that front. This is Sweets Way which is pink, blue & silver glitter in a white sheer base. At first this appears to be a jelly sandwich then when it tries the glitter really shines through. I think one coat of something sheer could make this a gorgeous jelly sandwich. This was two coats. then for shits and giggles I added a matte top coat in the bottom picture.

Nails Inc - Noho

Hey guys,

So this was a polish that I knew I needed as soon as I saw it. The downside being that it only comes as part of a "Bling It On" set with swarovski elements and tiny skulls along with nail glue. I wound up giving the nail bling to my friend at work, while just keeping the polish, which is a bit insane because that means I spent $30 on this polish. Or as I like to think about it $15 on the polish and $15 on a present for Kailey. That being said only crap I love this so much, it actually looks like leather. I would love to get my hands on the other shades of this, but I haven't seen them here in Canada and I am for sure not paying $30 for each polish. I'm a little crazy but I'm not THAT crazy.

Dusk Gradient

Hey guys,

So this has been sitting in my drafts for longer than I really care to admit. This was when I was really playing with gradients. I actually really love the colour scheme on this one. I'm just not 100% pleased with the execution. That being said I'm not above showing you guys crappy work that I've done. Because I love you and all that jazz. Next time I think I'd go without the white base.

For this gradient I used

Orly - After Party
OPI - Swimsuit... Nailed It!
China Glaze - Flying Dragon (Neon)

Nicole By OPI - Selena Gomez Swatches

Hey guys,

So I'm sure you all remember my quest for the Selena Gomez polishes from NOPI. The stupid glitters were EVERYWHERE, but the cremes & shimmers were absolutely impossible to find. For almost a full month I kept checking Rexall & Shoppers relentlessly, with the glitters mocking me at every turn. When finally I got a tip from my NPBBF Melissa that she had spotted them at London Drugs in Vancouver so maybe they would be at mine, you can bet I high-tailed it to London Drugs where surprise surprise I found my babies!! I managed to limit myself to 3 even though to this day I'm still considering going and searching for 2 that I still kind of want. Anyways these are my picks.

Lightning Bolt Manicure

Hey guys,

So a couple weeks ago I had a fundraiser dinner to go to so I decided I would try something fun that I have been meaning to try. A Lightning bolt manicure. This actually turned out pretty dang awesome if you ask me. The fundraiser itself was pretty boring but I got to hang out with two of my closest friends for a night and that was nice.

For this I used

Zoya - Karina
A England - Excalibur
Zoya - Storm

Rainbow Honey Equestria Collection Swatches

Hey guys,

Alright so we know me, I'm a sucker for glitter, horses & pretty things. So when I saw the My Little Pony inspired collection by Rainbow Honey I pretty much had to have it all. Of course at this point I was a MLP Friendship is Magic virgin, but I have since then rectified the situation. Unfortinately I don't remember what all of these are swatched over so please forgive me.

Orly Random Swatches

Hey guys,

So a while back Orly was on BTR (as they frequently are) and my bestie Nicole noticed and surprised me with a few exciting picks, along with 2 Nail Art colours (not pictured).
Nicole has great taste and of course knows what I like so I was pretty excited to swatch these babies.

Illamasqua - Venous

Hey guys,

So I recently went on a bit of a stress shopping spree and decided I needed some more Illamasqua in my life. I really wanted Phallic but of course I can't find it in any stores, AND Sephora won't ship it to Canada which considering they'll ship all the other Illa's why they won't ship Phallic is beyond me. I'm pretty annoyed at it. So anyways I grabbed Venous along with one of their new speckled polishes.

This is Venous,
so my polish BFF Melissa has been searching high and low for a David's Tea teal. This one is pretty close yet runs a tad dark. This was two coats, it applied beautifully.

March Julep Maven Box

Hey guys,

Today I have my March Julep Maven to show you guys. Along with the extra I ordered.
Okay so only being 3 months into my Julep subscription I am officially a big fan there is just something super exciting about waiting to see what surprise goodies Julep slipped into the box this month along with fun stuff like the Secret Store that gets unlocked when you order your box. And that's not getting into the other random fun stuff and deals.

Avon - Glisten

Hey guys,

Today we have another polish from "The Vault" when it comes to polishes that survived my polish purge from a couple years ago there were very few polishes that I decided to keep, but I loved these Mirror Shine polishes so much I had to keep them. Plus you never know when polish trends will come back (just look at the mirror polishes Essie put out last year) I'm glad I kept these plus they come in handy for nail art.
Application on these is a bit of a pain, they dry fast and can often be totally opaque in 1 good coat but you need a steady hand because brush strokes are quite prevalent. And they are a pain in the butt to photograph.

Crappy St. Patrick's Day Manicure

Hey guys,

So I'm actually surprised that I'm getting this up as today has been pretty busy. So if you ask me my last year's St. Patty's day manicure was better. See it here. Like a lot better. I initially wanted to keep things much more simple this year, maybe a french manicure with green tips, or dots or stripes or something nice and simple. Somewhere along the line I abandoned that for this monstrosity. Although on a happier note I did find my KCCO shirt this year and am wearing it right now.

For this I used

piCture pOlish - Mallard
Zoya - Apple
Zoya - Gia
OPI - Atomic Orange
Nails Inc. - Carnaby Street
China Glaze - Starboard
Island Girl - Aloha Girl
Cult Nails - Time Traveler
Rue Beaute - Trifecta

Maybelline - Twilight Rays

Hey guys,

So I won't lie, I have a tendency to be a total polish snob. Which makes zero sense seeing how I can be totally cheap, and also am not a fan of super high end polishes. Yet I totally turn up my nose at most drugstore brands like Revlon & Sally Hansen. Like I said it makes no sense, so anyways I always walk past the Maybelline Color Show display racks without a second thought, yet when my friend gave me this polish for Christmas I was so totally excited this colour is awesome. It's a gold/bronze glitter buried in a black base. It actually really reminded me of A England's Beauty Never Fails so I did a comparison swatch at the bottom.
This was two coats.

Zoya Random Swatch Spam

Hey guys

So this is a Zoya spam post that has been accumulating since Christmas when I was house sitting for Chelsea & Nicole and playing around in Chelsea's polish stash. Then we had the hunt for the perfect light blue creme, add in some randoms and POOF here we are. Anyways it's Friday and the perfect day for just random pretty pictures.
