OPI - Into The Night

Hey guys

Alright, so last day of August. Am I sad to see it go? Sure, but at the same time it means we are one step closer to Halloween (which is my second favourite holiday) and therefore closer to Christmas/My Birthday which I can start thinking about now that the year is halfway through.

Yay for a long weekend too! My big plans mostly consist of swatching/watermarking/uploading pictures. I'm supposed to have a Magic Mike date with Chelsea (maybe I'll break out my Magic Mike polish for that one) so hopefully it'll just be a good productive ol' long weekend.

This is

OPI - Into The Night

from the Amazing Spider-man collection. It was actually a bit more sheer than I expected so maybe next time I'll do it over a base of some sort.

A England - Ascalon

Hey guys

So funny story. Yesterday was my 200th post. Whoops missed the boat on that one.
Oh well. So once again my buddy at work has left me and I am all by myself (sad face)
Other than that not a whole lot to say. Just on to the super pretty polish.

This is

this colour is so cool, it's a slate grey/purple duochrome that's also a holo. I really couldn't stop staring at this. Too bad the camera didn't really catch it properly. It's one of my new favourites.

OPI - Don't Touch My Tutu!

Hey guys,

Okay so for some reason blogger is being really slow and bizarre while I type so if something seems a bit off please forgive me.

A couple days ago I finally managed to get together with my best friend Nicole after what seemed like months of not seeing her (in reality it was probably more like a month.) anyways she brought me a mittful of goodies! So I can't wait til I get around to showing you guys but seeing how I'm a tad backed up right now it's hard to say when that will be.

Also I'm sure you guys have heard the news by now... A England has a new collection coming out! Gothic Beauties. Can't wait.

Golf Manicure

Hey guys,

Okay so first off I'm so sorry about the impromptu hiatus. It just seemed like every time I told myself hey go blog I just wound up getting sidetracked, plus I had a busy weekend.
Anyways what's new with me? Well once again I am a lone wolf at work. My neighbor has once more left me for greener pastures. I knew it was coming but it's still sad.

A couple weeks ago my work had it's golf tournament and these are the nails I had for it. And nope no one noticed. Actually that's a lie my friend's 2 year old noticed when I was babysitting her and her older brother that night.

This is my Golf manicure

for this I used
China Glaze - Starboard (green)
Essie - Blanc
OPI - Skull & Glossbones (grey)

A England - Princess Sabra

Hey guys,

So good news! Breezer who has gotten a tad skinny over the last month (as opposed to getting fat like he normally does when he's on a break) so he's going on a short vacation to the fat farm! Okay thats actually code for my coach's parent's house to eat down their back pasture with a friend. Still. I'm excited for him, Clearly I'm super hungry right now because the thought of eating grass makes my tummy rumble. Bizarre
This is

it's an Olive-y/Gold Holo. I wasn't too sure about this one when I bought it but really how can you go wrong with an A England holo. Turns out I like it.

Zoya - Karina

Hey guys,

so I'm right in the middle of a new book. The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore. Anyone read it? I also picked up a "wreck this journal"
Which I'm excited to play with.

So I'm super eager to get back to my book so I'm going to cut this short.
On to a polish I love (and one that makes a lovely polish ring too)

A England - Princess Tears

Hey guys,

So you should all know I am feeling much happier today than I was yesterday. Here is the thing about getting tattooed for a long period of time. Your adrenaline is coursing through your body then as soon as you're done you just crash. It's like feed me now then I'm going to take a nap.

Well you guys know how I completely lurve A England so here is one of my more recent acquisitions.

Blue/Green Watermarble

Hey guys,

So today I spent most of my time sitting in rather uncomfortable positions getting my tattoo worked on. While anyone who knows me, knows that I'm never one to complain about getting tattoos let me be the first to admit: getting your Achilles tendon/hamstring tattooed flipping SUCKS it took everything I had not to be twitching all over the place. Scott was all "your ankle bone/foot will probably be the worst" LIES the anklebone and foot were cake. Anyways I needed to get that off my chest.

I'm super surprised I haven't posted this yet it's just floating around in my Drafts. So I have for you another sub-par watermarble. I really figure the only way to get better at these is to just keep practicing though. So ONWARD AND UPWARD. sorry caps lock was probably a tad unnecessary.

For this I used
Orly - Frisky
OPI - Gargantuan Green Grape
Essie - Blanc (white base)

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - I Love Lacey

Hey guys,

So while I was away at Regionals a couple weeks ago I knew that if I decided to paint my nails every single day I was pretty much opening myself to the "OMG you're on vacation!" conversation with everyone. So I figured it was the perfect time to try out the Nail Lacquer strips that a few different brands have come out with. I had heard that Sally Hansen had a Rock of Ages Salon Effects collection.

Considering my love for that movie, seemed like the perfect solution. Except when I went to the drugstore to grab them the Rock of Ages display had vanished. So I was pretty much hooped. Because instead of looking into which strips were in the collection I went in blind. So I pretty much just grabbed a couple that seemed rock & roll.

I wore mine with a top coat and had some chipping, but after a week they were still going strong plus they were a total bitch to get off once I wanted them gone.

Shark Week Manicure

Hey guys,

So good news, this sickness that seemed to have me in it's grasp for a couple days seems to be getting better, WOOOO.
Also I have the second sitting of my leg sleeve tattoo on Saturday!

Also for those of you who live under a rock, it's SHARK WEEK!!

I really don't know why I get so excited for shark week, in reality sharks kind of scare me... I've never even seen Jaws all the way through (although I did survive the Jaws ride at Universal)

I figured it deserved it's own manicure
for this I used

Orly - Sweet Peacock (blue)
OPI - French Quarter for Your Thoughts (Dark Grey)
OPI - Skull & Glossbones (light grey)
OPI - Sparrow Me The Drama (pink)
Orly Instant Artist - Jet Black
Orly Instant Artist - Crisp White

Essie Summer Colorblock Manicure

Hey guys,

This weekend was absolutely nuts for me. I'm fairly certain I need another one just to recover. Saturday meant getting up at the crack of dawn (literally) and heading to go volunteer for my work golf tournament. Then heading straight from the golf course to go babysit two of my favorite little ones. Then not going to bed until disgustingly late. Only to have to be waking up again to road trip. It's seriously time for me to go slip into a bit of a coma.

This is my summer colorblock manicure I did with some new Essie colours I picked up.

For this I used

Essie - Fear Or Desire (Orange)
Essie - Tart Deco (Coral/Peach)
Essie - Cute As A Button (Pink)

China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard

Hey guys,

Okay so the first thing on my mind is the fact that today I discovered one of the hottest men on the planet. Ricki Hall... google him I'm obsessed. Seriously what a life-ruiner.
Moooooving on.
So I told you guys I started a Tumblr right?
http://rock-n-roll-glitter.tumblr.com/
It's mostly stuff I just love and makes me laugh. Chelsea got mad at me for posting stuff willy-nilly but thats how I roll.

For nails today we have a bright neon. YAY

This is
China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard

this green is fantastic, so bright you gotta wear shades.

Bonus points if you can spot the flowers stamped with China Glaze Sun-Kissed

Red Glitter Gradient

Hey guys,

Today I was christmas shopping on etsy... for myself. Basically I was mooning over all sorts of dorky Doctor Who stuff. Anyways then I occurred to me I should check out the Nerd Lacquer situation. Well typical of me, I left it too long, her shop is closed and I have no clue what the status of it is. Sad day. Oh well I'll live.

So I'd been wanting to do another glitter gradient, except this time take it a bit more subtle... can glitter be subtle??
Whatever, so I decided I might as well go with my favourite colour.

For this I used
OPI - Big Apple Red
OPI - Gettin' Miss Piggy With It

Olympic Manicure

Hey guys,

So today I was watching the Women's soccer semi finals game. (USA vs Canada)
I'm going to start this off by saying that both teams played incredibly well. It always amazes me how the players can be rolling on the ground in pain one moment then ripping around after the ball moments later, talk about hardcore athletes. I was totally unhappy about the refereeing though. Seriously that ref could not have seemed any more biased towards the US team. Now while I'm not saying that team USA shouldn't have won (like I said they were one half of an incredible game) I'm super happy about how team Canada played and that they came so close to having a shot at the gold.

This is my Olympic themed manicure.
for this I used

Bed Head - Master Mind (white base)
Quo Instant Artist - Red
Orly Instant Artist - Jet Black
Art Club - Neon Green
Art Club - Yellow
Art Club - Neon Blue

Orly - Cupcakes And Unicorns

Hey guys,

Today marks the end of the 2012 Region 17 horse show. While part of me wants to breathe a giant sigh of relief that it's over, the other half is totally bummed that it's over and that my vacation is also over. Oh well I'll get over it. Give me a day.
Kelly & Timmi wound up taking home
2 Champions (1 of them being unanimous)
3 Reserve Champions
2 Top Fives
out of a total of 8 classes. That's not too shabby if you ask me.

I'm also really excited to go home and paint my nails. This is the longest I've gone for a long time and I'm starting to go a bit squirrelly
