Dollish Polish - Get Your Sprinkle On

Hey guys,

So I had an insanely productive yet MELLOW day. It was awesome, totally what I needed. I swatched this month's Julep box, finished making the dragon egg I have been working on all week, edited a bunch of pictures, finished staining the two signs I've been working on, baked cupcakes, filmed a video, AND watched a crap load of tv I have been procrastinating on. Oh and I watched a few episodes of Brotherly Love which was easily one of my favourite shows in the 90's, seriously you gotta love the Lawrence brothers. Actually I was so busy I almost forgot to blog. Whoops.

This was a polish from Dollish Polish's Ice Cream Collection. I actually really liked this collection, it was bright and fun and was perfectly fitting of the ice cream theme. I only wound up ordering one from this collection but I chose a yellow crelly full of bright rainbow glitters. Good even application. This was three coats.

Deborah Lippmann - Forsaken: Sookie Sookie Set

Hey guys,

So a few months ago I found two Deborah Lippmann sets I had been lusting over for months. I've said it before, but I am a total sucker for anything tying into anything I fangirl over. So while the polishes within these sets may have not screamed my name, the fact that they are True Blood Deborah Lippmann's was enough to make these a must have. And I found them at Winners so DOUBLE BONUS. Actually if I was a good friend I would have also grabbed them for Melissa but alas, I suck.

If you are a True Blood fan then you'll know that the season premiere of the FINAL season starts on Sunday, out with Game of Thrones and in with True Blood. Oh HBO you really know how to not overwhelm my schedule. I dig it. I'm still really sore over Warlow's departure. If you haven't seen last season and that is a spoiler for you, the statute of limitations on spoilers for last season is up so deal with it.
Anyways here is the first of two sets!.

Julep - Kathy - June Birthstone

Hey guys,

So I love random crafts. I'm currently working on a dragon egg, which turns out is a lot heavier than I expected it to be, so it could possibly double as a weapon should I ever need to throw something at someones head. Although my aim can't be trusted so it would likely just wind up being me throwing my dragon egg, breaking it, then being bummed out about breaking said dragon egg.

I have June's birthstone to show you today! I actually really like this one. I know a lot of people were whining about the way Pearl turned out "it should have been white," "couldn't they have done _____ instead" Whatever. Pearls come in all different colours and this gold pearly shade is very pretty. The application was better than I expected too. This is two coats.

Ciate - Chalkboard Manicure

Hey guys,

Has anyone else noticed that this month seems to be FLYING by? I have my cousin's wedding to go to next week and that suddenly just dawned on me, so of course I was scrambling and crawling through my closet trying to figure out what dress to wear. Why is it bad luck to wear black to a wedding? BLACK IS THE BEST!

So a couple weeks ago I got a fantastic package in the mail from Miss Melissa over at Claw of Cthulhu. Aka Nail Polish Bestie, aka just all around awesome chick. And inside was the Ciate chalkboard manicure set. This was my first experience with Ciate so I was kind of excited. Now You can totally get this same look with some nail art pens and a good matte topcoat but this is still fun. The kit includes a matte black, 4 chalk pens, and a matte top coat.

At first I put the matte black on over top of my regular basecoat. BIG MISTAKE. the matte wanted to dry and crack like it was a straight up crackle. So I removed and put it on without a basecoat like the recommend. Much better plus it had a fantastic chalky matte finish, perfect matte.

Then the chalk pens, I found them a bit hard to work with since all the liquid chalk seems to want to pool really easy once it gets going. And my yellow pen was totally shot, the nub wouldn't spring back out.
So I just attempted some random designs. Waited for it to dry then slapped the matte top coat on.

Overall I think this is pretty cool, but I don't think buying the set it totally necessary, unless of course you want to!

Enchanted Manicure

Hey guys,

So after already checking my local Michael's store I had to drive about 25 minutes into the city to a different Michaels to try and find wooden plaques and stryofoam eggs. This is my life as a crafter.

Mixing it up today I have my last Disney manicure that I had in my drafts to show you guys, I've been sitting on this for a while, I'm not exactly sure why since it's not like I hate this at all. I love the movie Enchanted. It is probably one of my top 10 (at least top 15) favourite Disney movies, and contrary to what everyone is saying about Frozen it was totally the first Disney movie that called bullshit on the love at first sight thing. Plus Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden. So here we have Giselle (her eyes are a tad close together but whatever), her dress, the posioned apple, and the Prince's poufy sleeves.

Enchanted!

OPI - What's A Little Rain Forest?

Hey guys,

So did anyone watch the Game of Thrones season finale?? Of course my favourite character bit the dust. Sad day for me, I won't say who it was, spoilers and all but aww man. I sort of expected this to happen way sooner than it did but sheesh. Stupid show. Guess I have to pick a new favourite. This makes me feel like the grim reaper.

I have the very last Brazil liquid sand for you today. This was my favourite from the collection, a beautiful sky blue with the same sugary finish (I really feel like that is the perfect description for it) this is such a fantastic summer polish. Perfect for toes too. This was two coats.

OPI - You're So Flippy Floppy

Hey guys,

So on a totally non blog related note, Yesterday my best friend and I decided to do the "Baby Food Challenge" and film it and then of course upload it to the internet for the world to see. So if you feel like watching me choke down some baby food click here! The plan is to start making product review videos and putting them on youtube. Who knows if this will last but heck why not right?

Today I have my least favourite of the Brazil liquid sand polishes to show you, honestly the only reason this was my least favourite was because of the colour, I know some of you with a darker skintone can probably ROCK this canary yellow but it just makes me look jaundiced. Although I do have it on my toes right now and it works much better as a toenail polish. Like Brazil Nuts this one was a bit more sheer, this is three coats.
